WWE Planning November 2nd Return To Saudi Arabia
WWE is making a return trip to Saudi Arabia in November.
The Wrestling Observer reported that the company plans to return on Nov. 2. George Barrios said on an investors call that going to Saudi Arabia would be an annual event. WWE signed a 10-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority earlier this year.
WWE pushed back European tour dates in October to May 2019 in order to accommodate the planned return.
The company held The Greatest Royal Rumble at the Saudi General Sports Authority stadium on April 27 of this year. The show was headlined by a 50-man Royal Rumble, which was won by Braun Strowman. Also on the card was John Cena against Triple H, a WWE Title bout between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, and a Universal Title Cage Match pitting Brock Lesnar against Roman Reigns.
Female performers were not allowed to compete at the event, drawing criticism from many fans leading up to, during, and after the show. Less than a week before their planned return in November, WWE will hold the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event; Evolution.
