WWE NXT Takeover WarGames 2020 Results The Undisputed Era vs The Kings of NXT
The top two stables on the black and gold brand clash when they face off in a WarGames match!
Good evening Fight Fans, it’s time for NXT Takeover WarGames headlined by the Men’s WarGames match between The Undisputed Era and The Kings of NXT!
– We open tonight’s event with a video package for tonight’s matches before we open in the CWC with sparks flying off of the cages surrounding the ring to War Pigs by Black Sabbath.
NXT Women’s WarGames Match
The two teams come out onto the ramp before being locked in their respective cages and Kai and Ember start off for their respective teams as the five-minute timer for the next competitor to enter begins, subsequent competitors entering at three minute intervals. Kai and Moon start the match off by grappling before Kai jumps on Ember’s back and chokes her before Ember hits running moves in opposite corners. Ember drops Kai with a single leg dropkick into a pump kick and a running senton before Kai hits a scorpion kick. Kai strikes Ember in mount before pressing her face against the side of the cage before Ember suplexes Kai into the side of the cage. Ember hits a running cross body into Kai into the side of the cage before Moon counters an avalanche GTK and Kai catches Moon with a kick when she goes for a suicide dive from one ring into the other.
Kai then hits a frankensteiner as time winds down and the clock hits zero with Shotzi coming in second, Shotzi bringing a crow bar and tool box into the ring. Shotzi hits a bulldog into a pump kick and a discus forearm into an inverted cannonball against the ropes before Kai manages to temporarily right off both Moon and Blackheart. Shotzi and Ember hit a missile dropkick doomsday device as Raquel enters next and evens the odds before single handedly taking out Moon and Blackheart. Raquel uses Kai as a weapon against Moon and Blackheart before Kai and Gonzalez double up on Shotzi and Ember as time runs down. Rhea comes in next and goes toe to toe with Raquel before Kai distracts her, but Rhea takes them both out anyway. Ember and Shotzi double up on Raquel for two before Rhea hits Kai with a sledgehammer and throws her into the side of the cage.
Rhea and Raquel meet in the middle between the two rings and break before spilling onto the first ring as time runs out. Toni comes in and brings kendo sticks with her before suplexing Rhea and ripping the top turnbuckle pad off of one of the turnbuckles in the first ring. Toni whips Rhea into the exposed turnbuckle before Toni and Raquel hit Shotzi and Ember with kendo sticks before the two sides hit a tower of doom and a reverse tower of doom in opposite rings. Io comes in next and slides ladders into the ring before Raquel shuts the door before she can enter the cage. Io tosses chairs in next before kicking Raquel and Toni sends her out of the cage before tying it shut with her belt. Io tries to climb the cage and gets knocked off and down onto the floor before Indi attacks Io from behind before Candice enters the cage with trash cans.
Candice locks the cage and holds onto the key before she and her team take control with a four on three advantage. Io puts a garbage can over herself and dives off of the cage and onto everyone in the ring before Team Shotzi come back. Candice saves Toni from getting hit with a wrench before Shotzi locks in a Muta Lock on Toni that Candice breaks up. Shotzi hits Candice with a chair and kendo stick before Kai hits her from behind with a chair and rocks Io with a running kick. Kai puts a trash can over Io and hits a diving stomp for a near fall that Ember breaks up before Ember hits Kai with The Eclipse for a near fall. Toni hits Moon with Storm Zero onto the trash can for a near fall that Moon breaks up before a ladder is set up in the first ring and Shotzi goes for a diving senton, but lands on top of a chair that Candice grabbed and put on top of herself.
Io hits a moonsault for a near fall that Toni breaks before Raquel chokeslams Io through a ladder for the pin and the win.
Winner: Team Candice defeat Team Shotzi via pinfall when Raquel Gonzalez pins Io Shirai.
– We get a video package promo by Finn Bälor who says that he’s returning this Wednesday.
– Earlier today Undisputed Era and The Kings of NXT arrive ahead of the Men’s WarGames match in tonight’s main event.
Tommaso Ciampa vs Timothy Thatcher
The two grapple on the mat before hopping up and exchanging standing switches before Tim takes Ciampa down and knees him in the ribs. Tim locks in an arm bar in the ropes before torquing and wrenching on the ankle and heel of Tommaso. Tim takes Tommaso’s back before hitting a float over suplex for two before locking in a cross face, Ciampa getting to the ropes for the break. Tim smashes the chest of Ciampa into the edge of the apron before he falls off and onto the floor before Tim rolls him back inside. Tim gets two before hitting a belly to belly suplex for two before kneeing Ciampa in the spine and kidneys for another two count.
Ciampa comes back with chops before Tim locks in a butterfly clutch and Ciampa comes back with clotheslines before hitting a superplex for two. Tim counters the Fairytale Ending and chops Ciampa in the throat before locking in a front choke, and they spill out of the ring when Ciampa falls out to break the hold. Ciampa gets back in the ring at nine before chopping Tim in the throat and hitting a V-Trigger into a bulldog choke. Tim then comes back with a German suplex before Ciampa traps him in the ropes and hits several chips into a front choke and Willows Bell for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa defeats Timothy Thatcher via pinfall.
Strap Match
Dexter Lumis vs Cameron Grimes
Grimes attacks Lumis before the match starts before Dexter rocks Cameron with strikes and hits a Thesz press. Lumis puts the strap around his wrist and the match officially starts before Cameron tries to leave and Dexter drags him back inside. Grimes gets out of the ring and chokes Dexter with the strap before Dexter drops him with a thrust to the throat when Grimes comes off of the top of the barricade. Dexter whips Cameron into the barricade repeatedly before Grimes sends Dexter over the barricade before yanking him back over to ringside. Cameron hits Dexter with a bag before emptying it and revealing a second strap before putting the bag over Dexter’s head and whipping him.
Back in the ring Cameron whips Dexter before he comes back with a spine buster and Cameron sends him into the lighting structure. Cameron hits a PK from the apron before Dexter yanks him down and onto the floor before whipping him across the back once they’re back in the ring. Dexter hits a running clothesline in the corner before Cameron hits a release German suplex into the corner and hitting Dexter with a chair. Cameron sits on the chair and plays to the crowd, mocking Dexter before Dexter hits a fall away slam into right hands and goes up top. Cameron yanks Dexter from the top rope and hits a standing Spanish fly before whipping Dexter and they counter each other’s finishers.
Dexter then sends Cameron face first into the chair before locking in The Silence for the tap and the win.
Winner: Dexter Lumis defeats Cameron Grimes via submission.
– We see UE and Pat and company getting ready backstage before the lights flicker and we see a crow and a clock signaling the return of Karrion Kross.
NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match
Leon Ruff (c) vs Damian Priest vs Johnny Gargano
Priest is immediately sent out of the ring before Johnny gets a series of near falls on Ruff before Ruff hits several dropkicks and a springboard arm drag. Priest comes back in and tosses Leon aside when he’s beating on Johnny in the corner before tossing him out of the ring and Leon hits a missile dropkick to Johnny and Priest. Priest stays on his feet before Leon and Johnny double up on Damian and send him over the top rope before Johnny hits a suicide dive. Leon goes for a suicide dive and Johnny hits a slingshot spear through the ropes for two before Priest hits a Razor’s Edge through the plexiglass barricade. Ruff is helped to the back as Johnny attacks Priest from behind and hits a tornado DDT off of the ramp.
Back in the ring Johnny hits a Shiranui for two before Priest rocks him with a roundhouse kick and drops him with a clothesline. Ruff comes back out of nowhere and takes out Priest on the ramp before taking out Priest and Gargano with a flipping senton at ringside. Back in the ring Leon hits a diving cutter to Johnny for two before Johnny knocks him down from the top and Leon hits a rebound lariat for two. Priest drops Leon with a boot and hits Leon and Johnny with a double flat liner before hitting jumping back elbows in opposite directions. Priest throws Leon into Johnny before Johnny counters a Razor’s Edge and sends Priest into the post before lawn darting Leon into Priest.
Johnny ties Priest in the ropes of the second ring before Leon hits a crucifix bomb for a near fall and goes up top before missing a diving splash. Johnny locks in the Gargano Escape in front of Priest who breaks up the hold before hitting a diving, spinning heel kick. Damian throws Leon into the ropes and into a superkick by Johnny before hitting Johnny with a sit-out side slam. Priest is attacked by a group of men dressed like Ghostface before Priest dispatches of them and chokeslams Johnny onto the apron. Back in the ring Leon hits a diving splash for a near fall that Damian breaks up before turning Leon inside out.
Johnny then counters The Reckoning before they exchange kicks and a Ghostface hits Priest with a pipe before Johnny superkicks Leon and hits the One Final Beat for the pin and the win.
Winner: Johnny Gargano defeats Leon Ruff and Damian Priest via pinfall to become the new NXT North American champion.
– After the match Johnny celebrates on the ramp before a Ghostface takes his mask off and it’s Austin Theory.
– We get a graphic announcing New Year’s Evil on January 6th 2021 on NXT television on USA Network.
Men’s WarGames Match
Once the men enter their cages the match is kicked off by Kyle O’Reilly for UE and Pete Dunne for Pat’s group. They start the match off by feeling each other out before exchanging submissions and grappling on the mat. Pete matches Kyle move for move before focusing on joint manipulation before Kyle locks in a standing guillotine and drops him with a running knee. Pete hits an x-plex onto an armbar before Kyle locks in a heel hook as time counts down and Oney Lorcan enters the match. Oney and Kyle exchange strikes before Pete and Oney double up on Kyle and Kyle hits a diving knee to Oney before Pete turns him inside out with a dropkick to the knee.
Oney locks in a single leg Boston crab while Pete manipulates Kyle’s fingers before Fish comes in and suplexes Pete into Oney. Fish hits Oney with a spine buster and UE hit a DDT into a German suplex before Bobby hits Oney with a dragon screw and kicks Pete in the legs. Time counts down and Danny comes in next and brings a bag with a pair of cricket bats before Kyle locks in a submission and Danny taps out, but the match hasn’t started yet. Pete breaks up the hold and Danny hits Kyle across the back with the bat before time counts down and Roderick Strong comes in for UE. Roddy is immediately attacked by the tag champs before Strong hits a running double clothesline and hits Pete with a backbreaker.
Roddy hits an Olympic slam before being launched into the side of the cage and The Kings retake control as Pat enters the match last for his team and brings several tables in with him. The Kings lay Roddy on a table and hits a moonsault off of the top and through the table before Adam Cole finally enters the match and brings a fire extinguisher and a chair. Cole takes out everyone except Pat before Pete gets between them and counters The Bitter End into a DDT before Kyle attacks Pete with a chair and baits Pat into getting hit by a chair from behind by Adam. All eight men brawl before each team gets two off of a double team and Pat chop blocks Adam before locking in a figure four Adam rolls to reverse the pressure. Pete breaks up the hold before Pat taps before Roddy and Fish and Oney and Danny exchange until they collapse while Adam his an ushigoroshi to Pete for a near fall.
UE put Danny on a table and slam Pete onto a table that doesn’t break before it collapses underneath their weight. Adam knocks Pete backwards off of the top through another table before UE trap the rest of The Kings between the ropes and the side of the cage. UE hit several running moves before surrounding Pat and beating him down before The Kings come back to save Pat from being finished. Everyone hits a move before seven of the eight men brawl and Pat hits a Swanton Bomb off of the top onto the pile. Kyle and Pete exchange strikes until Kyle drops Pete and Pete snaps his fingers before hitting the Bitter End for a very close near fall.
Kyle hits a suplex onto the steel grate between the two rings for a near fall before trapping the head of Pete in a chair and climbing up top. Pat hits Kyle with a chair and knocks him off of the top to save Pete before Adam gets hit with a low blow when he goes to hit Pat across the head with the chair. Adam drops Pat with a pump kick before Bobby spears Burch through a table and Adam superkicks Pat when he teases a Panama Sunrise. Adam hits a Panama Sunrise of his own for a near fall before Oney saves Pat from The Last Shot and Pete hits a Bitter End into a chair. Kyle then pins Oney with a diving knee off of the top with a chair across his face for the pin and the win.
Winner: Undisputed Era defeat The Kings of NXT via pinfall when Kyle O’Reilly pins Oney Lorcan.
