WWE NXT Results for 3/24/21 NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
The NXT Women’s Tag Team titles are on the line tonight at 8pm EST on USA Network!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE NXT!
Zoey Stark & Io Shirai vs Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez
Zoey and Raquel start the match off with Raquel overpowering Zoey in the corner before they exchange wrist locks and Zoey hits a head scissors and an enzuigiri. Raquel halts the momentum of Zoey with a clothesline before slamming Dakota onto Zoey for two before Zoey slaps Dakota and hits a Thesz press. Io comes in and she and Dakota dodge each other’s strikes until Io hits a basement dropkick and a meteora in the corner before Raquel distracts Io and they exchange pin attempts for a series of two counts. Zoey hits a running uppercut into a sliding clothesline before Dakota counters a fireman’s carry and Raquel comes back in and gets hit with a head scissors. Raquel and Dakota then hit an assisted GTK for a deep two count as we go to commercial.
Io comes in as we come back from the break before hitting a sunset flip stomp to Raquel before hitting meteoras in opposite directions. Io hits a missile dropkick before she and Zoey clear the ring and Zoey hits a slingshot cross body that takes out Raquel before sending Dakota into the post. Raquel then runs into the post before Io hits a moonsault onto Raquel before Zoey tosses Raquel back inside and Raquel hits a single armed powerbomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai defeat Zoey Stark and Io Shirai via pinfall.
– After the match Raquel boots Io and drops her across the announce table.
– We see footage of Adam Cole attacking Kyle O’Reilly in a public gym before we go backstage to Kyle being briefly interviewed before Roddy shows up and says that they need to work together. Roddy then tells Kyle that both he and Adam can go to hell before leaving.
– We get a backstage promo by LA Knight ahead of his match against Bronson Reed up next as we go to commercial.
– We get a backstage promo by NXT Cruiserweight champion Jordan Devlin ahead of his match against KUSHIDA.
LA Knight vs Bronson Reed
Reed runs LA over and hits a high angle back body drop before catching him coming off of the top and hitting a powerslam before locking in a rear chin lock. Reed grounds LA with a headlock before he gets to his feet and gets dropped with a back elbow before Reed headbutts him and rocks him with a bionic elbow. Reed chops LA against the ropes before sending LA out of the ring and out onto the apron before snapping the neck of Reed across the top rope. LA then hits a slingshot shoulder block before stomping on Reed as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to LA still on control of Bronson until Reed comes back with a back elbow into several forearms and a Thesz press. Reed then hits a running splash in the corner into a chokeslam before going up top and LA crotches him on the top turnbuckle before Reed knocks him off and hits the Tsunami for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bronson Reed defeats LA Knight via pinfall.
– We get an update on the condition of Danny Burch as well as a graphic for the triple threat match for the vacated tag titles at Takeover.
Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett) vs Oney Lorcan
Kross man handles Oney and sends him out of the ring before sending him into the barricade and back into the ring before Oney gets back out and Kross suplexes him onto the floor. Back in the ring Kross drives Oney into the corner and back out of the ring before Oney sends Kross into the apron and rocks him with a dropkick. Oney then hits a running uppercut in the corner before Kross runs him over for two as we go to commercial.
Kross is still in control as we come back to the ring before locking in an armbar and Oney gets to the ropes for the break before hitting an exploder suplex out of the corner. Kross locks in a straight armbar with a chin bar before Oney comes back with a flurry of strikes before Kross goes into the post and Oney hits an arm breaker. Oney chops Kross down and dropkicks him before hitting a flurry of running uppercuts and missing a blockbuster before Kross hits a Saito suplex. Kross then knocks Oney out with a forearm to the back of the neck for the pin and the win.
Winner: Karrion Kross defeats Oney Lorcan via pinfall.
– After the match Kross says that he’s realized that he gave Finn respects when he didn’t appreciate or deserve it before Finn comes out onto the stage. Finn slowly walks down to ringside and stands over Oney before stepping over him and getting into the ring with Kross before telling Kross that his emotions are his weakness. Finn says that he’s going to push Kross to the point that he’s going to have two options, master his emotions or let his emotions master him. Finn then says that he’s going to be emotionless and drag Kross into deep water and drown him before the two face off as we go to commercial.
– We get an announcement by NXT General Manager William Regal who announces that there will be a twelve man battle royal with the final six entering a gauntlet where the winner of that will challenge Johnny Gargano for the North American Championship at night two of Takeover.
WALTER (w/ Imperium) vs Drake Maverick
WALTER immediately drops Drake and powerbombs him before locking in a submission and the referee calls for the bell in a matter of seconds.
Winner: WALTER defeats Drake Maverick via referee stoppage.
– After the match Tommaso Ciampa comes out to the ring and faces off with WALTER before challenging WALTER to a match for the UK title at Takeover before WALTER accepts and Imperium take out Ciampa.
– We get a taped promo by Pete Dunne who inserts himself into the battle royal next week.
– We see Robert Stone and Aliyah convincing Mercedes Martinez to team with Aliyah in the NXT Women’s Tag Team title match with an envelope of money. Mercedes then says that it’s half of the payment and she wants the other half after the match as we go to commercial.
– Backstage Johnny Gargano walks into Regal’s office and complains about how his title challenger for Takeover will be decided before saying that he’s only going to know who his opponent is for twenty four hours. Regal then advises Johnny to study his competitors before Johnny leaves, adamant that he’s not shutting the door.
NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon (c) vs Aliyah & Mercedes Martinez (w/ Robert Stone)
Ember and Mercedes start the match off before the champs double team Mercedes for two before Robert gets on the apron and distracts Shotzi before Mercedes drops Shotzi with a boot. Mercedes hits a gut buster before Aliyah hits a reverse block buster and boots Ember off of the apron before dropping Shotzi and dragging her to the corner. Aliyah and Mercedes hit an assisted sit-out face buster for two before Shotzi gets the hot tag to Ember who knocks Mercedes off of the apron and drops Aliyah. Ember then powerbombs Aliyah for a near fall that Mercedes breaks up before Shotzi hits a DDT to Mercedes and Ember hits Aliyah with The Eclipse for the pin and the win.
Winner: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart retain their NXT Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez via pinfall.
– Backstage Cameron Grimes tries to buy the Undisputed Era intellectual property from Roderick Strong before Roddy attacks him and leaves as we go to commercial.
– Backstage Shotzi and Ember are interviewed backstage before they’re interrupted by Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.
– We get a breakdown of the cards for both nights of NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver.
Jordan Devlin vs KUSHIDA
KUSHIDA takes Jordan down before Jordan hits a uranage into a standing moonsault for two before dropping KUSHIDA with a back elbow and KUSHIDA hits a hip toss into a cartwheel dropkick. KUSHIDA then focuses on the arm of Jordan to set up the Hoverboard Lock before Jordan hits an asai moonsault at ringside as we go to commercial.
We come back to Jordan in control of KUSHIDA back in the ring before KUSHIDA comes back with an enzuigiri and the two exchange strikes as we see that Roderick and Cameron will face off next week. KUSHIDA goes back to the arm of the NXT Cruiserweight champion before Jordan counters an armbar into a pin attempt for two before hitting a cutter for a deep two count. Jordan sets KUSHIDA on the top turnbuckle before he’s distracted by Legado Del Fantasma on the stage and KUSHIDA hits a superplex into an armbar. Jordan then gets to the ropes for the break before Jordan sidesteps KUSHIDA who drops Raul and Joaquin off of the apron and Jordan pins him with a bridge.
Winner: Jordan Devlin defeats KUSHIDA via pinfall.
– After the match KUSHIDA takes out Raul and Joaquin in frustration before Santos Escobar gets into the ring and faces off with Jordan before Shawn Michaels comes out to the ring. Shawn then slides a ladder into the ring as Santos and Jordan look at each other.
– Backstage Kyle and Adam make their way out to the ring for Regal’s announcement of their consequences for last week’s arrest as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to Kyle and Adam in the ring with Regal and security before Regal yells at them and gives them a contract for a non-sanctioned match at Takeover. Before signing Adam says that Kyle helped him realize that he doesn’t need UE and that he’s better off without them before calling Kyle a sidekick. Adam then says that he’s nothing like Kyle who lost sight of what UE was which was being the best before saying that he and UE are nothing without him. Adam signs the contract and slides it over to Kyle before Kyle gets on the mic and says that he became a better person and that UE meant nothing. Kyle says that no one will be surprised after he beats Adam at Takeover and that he’s going to sleep with a clean conscious that night.
Adam then urges Adam to sign his death warrant before Kyle throws the pen at Adam and they’re held back by security as we go off the air.
