WWE NXT Results for 2/17/21 The Kings of NXT Victorious Over UE & Bälor
The Cruiserweight champion clashes with the former NXT champion in a grudge match at 8pm EST on USA!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE NXT!
– We open tonight’s show with a recap of Adam Cole turning on Finn Bälor and Kyle O’Reilly at the end of Takeover: Vengeance Day this past weekend.
– We go to the ring where Kyle immediately gets inside, has his music cut and grabs a mic before talking about how he can’t make sense of what Adam did before saying that he’s shocked, pissed off, and disappointed. Kyle says that Adam ruined UE for everyone and stabbed him in the back before saying that Adam is still his brother and is willing to give him the benefit of a doubt. Kyle says that he needs Adam to come out to the ring and explain himself before saying that he’ll probably punch Adam, but he’s willing to hear him out. Roddy comes out onto the stage instead of Adam before Kyle tells him that he’s wasting time by coming out and trying to keep the peace before Roddy gets onto the apron. Kyle demands Adam come out a second time before Finn comes out instead and says that he’s looking for Kyle and that Kyle needs to get in line behind him.
Finn talks about how he trusted Kyle before Roddy says that neither he nor Kyle had anything to do with what Adam did before they’re attacked by The Kings of NXT.
– We go to William Regal via Zoom where he shows a video from Santos Escobar who says that he’ll face Kross on his time before Regal says that the match will take place next week. Regal then says that if Santos doesn’t show up next week he will be suspended indefinitely and stripped of the Cruiserweight Championship. Regal then announces our main event between the Kings and UE with Finn in a six man tag match.
The Way (Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell w/ Johnny Gargano) vs Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart
Shotzi and Candice start the match off before she and Ember chain together tags and offense and send Candice out of the ring as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Shotzi in control of Indi before Indi gets the tag to Candice who covers Ember after Indi drops Ember with a boot before we cut to the outside to see a white van pull up. Candice gets two off of a sunset flip before clotheslining Ember for another two count before stomping her in the corner and tagging Indi back in. Indi drops Ember with an elbow for two before hitting a sidewalk slam for two before dragging Ember to the corner where Candice comes in and hits an elbow drop. Candice stretches Ember before she gets to her feet and gets slammed to the mat by her hair before indi hits a running boot in the ropes and knocks Ember off of the apron. Candice then hits a diving cross body before Johnny leaves commentary to go to the van as we go to commercial.
Everyone hits a move until all four women collapse as we go outside to Johnny banging on the van and trying to get inside before we go back to the ring to Candice superkicking Shotzi for two. Ember comes in and hits Candice with a Code Breaker for two before Shotzi and Ember go up top on opposite sides and Candice an Indi knock them down. Johnny then comes out onto the stage with Austin before Ember pins Indi off of the distraction for the win.
Winner: Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon defeat The Way via pinfall.
– We get a video package promo by Pat McAfee who talks about how Adam Cole was a scumbag just like he said and that he’s here to tell the internet wrestling community things they don’t know. Pat then says that he’s the greatest thing to ever happen to wrestling before saying #PatWasRight as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to a backstage interview with KUSHIDA where he talks about losing his NXT North American Championship match before Bronson Reed walks up and talks to him in Japanese. Reed then says that he knows KUSHIDA isn’t finished with Johnny, but he wants to face Johnny for the North American title before leaving before Malcolm Bivens shows up and says that he’s going to talk to Regal about getting a match for Tyler Rust against KUSHIDA later tonight.
Leon Ruff vs Isaiah Scott
Isaiah brutalizes Leon early, dropping him with a knee lift and a backbreaker before Leon rolls out of the ring and Isaiah hits a running pump kick from the apron before tossing Leon back inside. Leon tries to come back with chops before kicking Isaiah in the midsection and hitting several ax handles before clotheslining Isaiah and following up with a diving cutter for a near fall. Leon then gets the upset win with a crucifix bomb out of nowhere after Isaiah clotheslined him.
Winner: Leon Ruff defeats Isaiah Scott via pinfall.
– Isaiah attacks Leon after the match before launching him into the corner with a release DVD before saying that he’s sick of Leon being handed everything and that it’s his time before leaving.
Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs Aliyah & Jessi Kamea
Before the match we get a recap of what happened last week before Kayden and Kacy and Xia Li before they have an insert promo where they say they’re focused on winning their match tonight. Once the match starts Kacy and Kayden double up on Jessi before BOA comes out onto the stage and Jessi attacks Kayden from behind. Jessi then drags Kayden to the corner and tags in Aliyah as Kacy gets the tag on the opposite side before K&K hit Aliyah with a diving cross body neckbreaker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro defeat Aliyah & Jessi Kamea via pinfall.
– After the match Xia Li and BOA come down to ringside before Xia marks Kacy and says that she will purge her next week before she and BOA leave.
– We get a backstage promo by Malcolm Bivens for Tyler Rust who says that KUSHIDA doesn’t have his determination or ambition and that Tyler is a Diamond in the Rust.
– We see MSK and Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez backstage as we’re told the Dusty Classic trophy presentations are up next as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to Beth Phoenix in the ring where she throws to a video package recapping the entire Men’s and Women’s Dusty Classics before she introduces MSK and Dakota and Raquel for the trophy presentations. The festivities are interrupted by the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax before the four verbally spar as MSK and Beth eat popcorn in the corner. Shayna then says that they’re going to embarrass Dakota and Raquel in two weeks time before they leave and Raquel says that she’s going to who’ve the trophy up Nia’s hole.
– We get the Cameron Grimes music video that debuted at Vengeance Day before we see that Cameron crashed his sports car and walked off laughing.
– We see photo stills of Toni Storm attacking Io Shirai during her photo shoot after winning the triple threat match at Takeover: Vengeance Day.
KUSHIDA vs Tyler Rust
KUSHIDA takes Tyler down to the mat before they exchange wrist locks and KUSHIDA hits several arm drags into a cartwheel dropkick before Tyler rocks him with an uppercut. KUSHIDA then snaps the arm of Tyler in the ropes before Tyler rips him off of the top and KUSHIDA rolls out of the ring and rotates his shoulder while grabbing it as we go to commercial.
KUSHIDA hits an atomic drop into a cartwheel dropkick before kicking Tyler in the face and locking in a standing guillotine before Tyler counters into a back drop. Tyler suplexes KUSHIDA and locks in a sleeper before KUSHIDA gets free and goes for the Hoverboard Lock before locking it in, but Tyler refuses to tap before Malcolm throws in the towel for him.
Winner: KUSHIDA defeats Tyler Rust via referee stoppage.
– We get a vignette for Zoey Stark who makes her singles debut up next as we go to commercial.
– We get a recap of the onscreen debut of Eli Drake as LA Knight who says that he’s coming for all of the gold before we go to earlier today at LA’s house and LA reprimands the cameraman for knocking on his door. LA says that he’s going to climb to the top of NXT and that it’s just a fact of life.
Zoey Stark vs Valentina Feroz
Zoey takes her opponent down and stomps her in the corner before Valentina dropkicks Zoey and gets hit with snake eyes in the corner before getting rocked with a kick. Zoey then hits a half and half suplex before hitting a sliding knee and a inside out knee lift for the pin and the win.
Winner: Zoey Stark defeats Valentina Feroz via pinfall.
– We get a video package promo by Scarlett and Karrion Kross where Kross says that Santos has two decisions to choose from, get destroyed by him or get stripped of his championship, only for Kross to find him later on.
Six-Man Tag Team Match
The Kings of NXT vs Undisputed Era (Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) & Finn Bälor
Kyle and Oney kick things off with the two exchanging strikes in the corner before Kyle hip tosses Oney and reluctantly tags in Finn before the two tag in and out and beat on Oney. Oney backs Finn into the corner before Finn hits a snap mare into a straight armbar to Danny before Roddy comes in and takes Danny down onto the mat before he gets to his feet and backs Roddy into the ropes for the break. Pete takes Roddy down and focuses on joint manipulation before Roddy dropkicks him for two before Pete gets to the ropes when Roddy goes for a backbreaker. Roddy takes out Oney and Danny at ringside before hitting a backbreaker to Pete once he’s back inside before Kyle and Oney come back in and Kyle takes out both Oney and Danny. Kyle then hits Pete and Oney with dragon screws before Pete drops Kyle at ringside as we go to commercial.
We come back to the Kings in control of Kyle before he gets the hot tag to Finn who hits Oney with a jumping stomp and knocking Danny out of the ring before Pete gets a near fall off of an inside cradle. Finn gets a near fall that Danny breaks up before Roddy sends him out and Finn counters the Bitter End into 1916 before Pete accidentally takes out the referee when he gets into a tug of war with Danny over the NXT Tag belt. The referee is taken out a second time before Adam takes out both Pete and Kyle before suplexing Kyle onto the bottom half of the steps and leaving. Back in the ring Roddy then takes out Oney before Finn accidentally hits Roddy with a Pele kick before Pete hits Finn with the Bitter End for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Kings of NXT defeat Undisputed Era and Finn Bälor via pinfall.
– After the match Adam comes out of nowhere from the back of the arena and superkicks Finn before holding the NXT Championship over his head as we go off the air.
