WWE NXT Results for 10/14/20 Priest Retains, LeRae Victorious

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE NXT!
– We open tonight’s show with a recap of last week’s before we open in the arena with the our opening match between Undisputed Era’s Strong and Fish and Lorcan and Burch.
NXT Tag Team Championship Number One Contender Match
Undisputed Era (Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish) w/Kyle O’Reilly vs Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
Oney and Roddy start things off by taking each other down to the mat before Strong drops Lorcan with a shoulder block. Oney puts Roddy in a head scissors before backing him into the corner. Danny comes in and locks in a hammer lock before Roddy pushes him backwards into the corner so Fish can tag in. Fish misses a slingshot senton before Danny hits an enzuigiri and uppercuts before taking him down to the mat. Oney and Danny suplex Roddy onto Bobby for two before Oney locks in a straight arm bar.
Fish comes back with forearms before Oney rocks him with forearms and hits a snap mare into a rear chin lock. Roddy then gets the blind tag before Oney chops him and Bobby before they hit a high back body drop as we go to commercial.
We come back to the action in the ring to UE in control as the tag team champions Breezango look on from ringside. Oney kicks Roddy away and avoids a diving splash from Bobby before getting the hot tag to Danny. Danny hits Roddy with a spine buster for two before Danny hits a double missile dropkick and Oney hits a double running blockbuster. Bobby saves Roddy before Danny headbutts Roddy and turns him inside out with a lariat. Lorcan and Burch hit an assisted DDT for a near fall that Bobby breaks up.
Roddy then pins Oney after hitting a jumping knee for the win.
Winner: The Undisputed Era defeats Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch via pinfall to become the new number one contenders for the tag titles.
– Backstage we get an update on the condition of Finn Bälor before we’re informed that NXT General Manager William Regal will give Finn a few weeks to recover before making a decision about the NXT title as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a video package promo by Ember Moon who says that she’s ready to prove herself to get back to the NXT Women’s title.
Ashante Thee Adonis vs Jake Atlas
Ashante backs Jake into the corner before Jake hits a back drop and they dodge each other’s strikes. Jake dropkicks Ashante before Jake shoves the face of Ashante and the two exchange strikes. Ashante then gets distracted by Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza of Legado Del Fantasma before Jake rolls him up for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jake Atlas defeats Ashante Thee Adonis via pinfall.
– Jake helps Ashante after the match when Wilde and Mendoza attack him before the Cruiserweight champion Santos Escobar comes out onto the stage. Isaiah Scott then comes from the crowd with a chair and gets into the ring with Ashante and Jake before the six men face off.
– We go backstage to Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae ahead of their matches tonight in which Johnny will face Austin Theory and Candice will face Shotzi Blackheart for an opportunity to challenge Io Shirai at Halloween Havoc.
Johnny Gargano vs Austin Theory
Austin takes Johnny down and locks in a straight arm bar on the mat before Johnny reverses into the Gargano Escape. Austin scrambles to the ropes for the break before Johnny counters the ATL and hits an enzuigiri. Johnny then hits a slingshot spear through the ropes from the apron as we go to commercial.
We come back to Johnny in control before Austin hits a suplex and the two exchange standing switches before superkicking Johnny for two. Austin superkicks Johnny a second time before Johnny counters the ATL yet again and hits a diving cross body. Austin gets a near fall off of a jack knife before chopping Johnny in the corner and the two exchange strikes until Johnny superkicks Austin. Johnny then lawn darts Austin into the corner before hitting a sliding forearm and One Final Beat for the pin and the win.
Winner: Johnny Gargano defeats Austin Theory via pinfall.
– Backstage Raquel Gonzalez cuts a promo on Rhea Ripley, challenging her to a match at Halloween Havoc before Rhea shows up and they nearly come to blows before being separated.
– We get a graphic for the NXT Women’s Championship Number One Contender match between Candice LeRae and Shotzi Blackheart up next as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a recap of Velveteen Dream interfering in the match between KUSHIDA and Tommaso Ciampa last week before we see Ciampa rewatching the match from a monitor and saying that Dream is dead.
NXT Women’s Championship Number One Contender Match
Candice LeRae vs Shotzi Blackheart
Shotzi hits several arm drags into a dropkick before Shotzi gets trapped in the ropes and gets knocked off of the apron. Shotzi hits a suicide dive when she avoids a baseball slide by Candice before tossing her back into the ring for two. Candice hits a jawbreaker before Shotzi spins Candice around and drops her face first across her knee for two. Candice comes back and wrenches the neck of Shotzi before she gets to her feet and Candice suplexes her for two. Candice rakes the face of Shotzi across the top rope before tossing her across the ring by her hair and choking her in the corner.
Shotzi counters a suplex into one of her own before they end up on the apron where Candice sends Shotzi into the post as we go to commercial.
We come back to Shotzi hitting a bulldog and a knee lift into an inverted cannonball with Candice against the ropes for two. Shotzi goes for a diving senton, but Candice gets her knees up for a near fall before Candice hits a German suplex off of the second turnbuckle into a superkick for another near fall. Shotzi hits a Tiger suplex for a near fall before Candice hits a back stabber and an asai moonsault for yet another near fall. Shotzi rolls Candice up for a near fall before Shotzi locks in a stock submission and Candice gets her foot on the bottom rope for the break. Candice sends Shotzi out onto the apron before Shotzi hits an enzuigiri and climbs up top before Candice meets her.
Shotzi knocks Candice down and hits a diving meteora before Candice rolls out of the ring when Shotzi goes back up top. Indi Hartwell then gives Candice something from the crowd when the referee is checking on Shotzi before Candice hits Shotzi with brass knuckles and pins her for the win.
Winner: Candice LeRae defeats Shotzi Blackheart via pinfall to gain an opportunity to face Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s title at Halloween Havoc.
– Earlier today Drake Maverick showed Killian Dain some marketing ideas he had including the tag team name The Furry and the Fury. Drake then informed Dain that they have a match against Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium later tonight.
– We get a graphic for the return of Toni Storm who is in action up next as we go to commercial.
– Robert Stone and Aliyah are in the ring before Robert talks about no one wanting to join their brand before saying that everyone else’s loss is their gain before they’re interrupted by Toni Storm.
Toni Storm vs Aliyah w/Robert Stone
Aliyah slaps Toni who drops her several times before Aliyah rocks her with a pump kick in the corner. Aliyah hits a snap mare before hitting her with forearms in the corner and a swinging neck breaker for two. Toni gets two off of a roll up before hitting an inverted atomic drop and chops. Toni hits a German suplex before hitting a running hip attack in the corner into a sliding clothesline. Toni then hits Storm Zero for the pin and the win.
Winner: Toni Storm defeats Aliyah via pinfall.
– Backstage William Regal makes the NXT Women’s Championship match official before making a match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez for Halloween Havoc. Boa and Xia Li then show up and lobby Regal for a match for next week which he says he’ll take into consideration.
– We get a graphic for Killian Dain and Drake Maverick versus Imperium up next as we go to commercial.
Killian Dain & Drake Maverick vs Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel)
Dain and Fabian start the match off with Dain suplexing Fabian and slamming Drake onto Fabian for two. Fabian slams Drake and tags in Marcel before Imperium isolate Drake and keep him away from Dain. Dain gets the hot tag and runs over both members of Imperium before Fabian hits a spine buster into a PK by Marcel. Dain counters a suplex before Drake comes back in and sends Marcel out of the ring before hitting a knee lift in the corner. Marcel sends Dain into the steps before Fabian catches Drake coming off of top and hits a suplex.
Imperium then hit the European Bomb they are now calling the Imperial Implosion for the pin and the win.
Winner: Imperium defeat Drake Maverick and Killian Dain via pinfall.
– After the match Ever-Rise come out and attack Drake before Dain saves him and leaves after telling Drake that no one hits him, but him.
– Backstage we see Dexter Lumis and Damian Priest side by side on the screen getting ready ahead of their North American Championship match up next as we go to commercial.
– The NXT Tag Team Championship match between the champions Breezango and the challengers Fish and Strong of Undisputed Era is announced for next week’s show.
NXT North American Championship Match
Damian Priest (c) vs Dexter Lumis
They locks up before they end up in the ropes for a clean break before Dexter locks in a standing side headlock. Priest shoves Dexter off before dropping him, but he’s right back up before Priest locks in a headlock. They run the ropes until Priest hits a deep arm drag into a straight arm bar before Dexter gets to his feet and backs Priest into the corner. Priest hits a diving cross body before reapplying the straight arm bar and Dexter gets to his feet before Priest runs the ropes and Dexter hits a Thesz press. Priest then comes back and hits a running back elbow in the corner into the Broken Arrow for two as we go to commercial.
We come back to Dexter in control, rocking Damian around the ring with strikes before hitting a bulldog and countering South of Heaven. Dexter hits a spine buster for two before Damian counters a cobra clutch and hits a whirlwind kick into a flat liner for a near fall. Damian locks in an ankle lock before Dexter kicks him away and Damian hits an ear clap into a roundhouse kick. Dexter hits a back suplex into a jumping leg drop for two before missing a Swanton Bomb and Priest clotheslines him. Dexter ducks a whirlwind kick before locking in the Silence and Priest gets his foot on the bottom rope for the break.
Dexter sends Priest into the barricade before rolling him back into the ring and Cameron Grimes hits Dexter with the Cave In. Damian then hits Dexter with South of Heaven unaware of what happened behind his and the referee’s backs for the pin and the win.
Winner: Damian Priest retains his North American title by defeating Dexter Lumis via pinfall.
– After the match Priest hits Grimes with The Reckoning before he goes up the ramp and is attacked from behind by Johnny Gargano with a chair. Johnny and Candice stand over a fallen Priest before William Regal comes up behind them and tells Johnny that he’ll face Priest for the North American title at Halloween Havoc before Shotzi appears across the arena in smoke. Shotzi then announces that Johnny and Candice’s title match stipulations will be decided with Spin the Wheel Make the Deal as we go off the air.
