WWE NXT (11/1/2022) Live Coverage.
– Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcomed the audience to the broadcast before quickly transitioning to the opening segment.
– NXT Champion Bron Breakker made his NXT return to cut a promo after defeating Ilja Dragunov & JD McDonagh on Halloween Havoc 2022 to retain the title. Breakker said Halloween Havoc was a monumental night for the entire locker room but was quickly interrupted by NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson), who proceeded to mock him for always cutting promos after retaining the title. Breakker imitated Pretty Deadly and called them wankers on PG-Rated Television. NXT North American Champion Wes Lee came to the ring to tell Pretty Deadly to shut up. Breakker told Pretty Deadly to quit bitching, but Lee gave them credit for having beautiful hair. Breakker recognized that they did indeed have wonderful hair and Lee gave them an introduction in the ring. After the flattering introduction, Breakker and Lee then revealed that they were challenging Pretty Deadly for the titles, which Pretty Deadly accepted. R-Truth interrupted everyone to sing his theme song for his match against Grayson Waller.
R-Truth vs. Grayson Waller.
R-Truth accidentally slapped Waller in the face to begin the match, to which Waller responded by attacking R-Truth. R-Truth hit a lariat on Waller but Waller responded with a jab on R-Truth’s face. R-Truth hit an atomic drop Waller before hitting a headlock on Waller. Waller stomped on R-Truth’s foot and got R-Truth in a headlock before hitting a shoulder tackle on R-Truth. R-Truth tripped Waller before locking in a headlock and hit a shoulder tackle, the tijeras, and a high-hip toss on Waller. Waller hit a slam on R-Truth and went for a springboard elbow drop on R-Truth, but R-Truth rolled out of the way. R-Truth punched Waller in the face to send him out of the ring before hitting Tope con Giro on Waller to the outside. Waller got back in the ring and stall on the ring as R-Truth was being checked on by medical experts on ringside. As R-Truth was checked on by the medical experts, Grayson Waller did the spinaroonie to taunt Booker T. The referee revealed that Grayson Waller took the win via referee stoppage.
Winner: Grayson Waller (via referee stoppage).
– Waller cut a promo after a match bragging about his victory, calling himself the most dominant man in WWE.
– Vic Joseph did a sit-down interview with Ava Raine, Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid backstage. Joseph asked Raine why she joined Schism now, to which Raine responded that no one ever took the time to know her until she met The Schism. Raine said that Gacy was the only one that reached out to her when she got injured. Gacy said he and Dyad embraced Raine and that attention is not enough for them. Joseph read a tweet from Cameron Grimes regarding The. Schism brain-washing Ava Raine, to which Raine lashed out a rant on Grimes before revealing Gacy would face Grimes in a match a later time.
– Javier Bernal talked to Edris Enofe & Malik Blade and told them to not speak to Shawn Michaels and that he was having a match later in the night. It was revealed that Bernal’s opponent was none other than Odyssey Jones, which Bernal was not in favor off.
– Zoey Stark came to the locker room and threw her bag to the floor, which Indi Hartwell confronted her about. Stark told Hartwell that she did not earn a title match, to which Hartwell responded by saying that Stark earned a boot on her face.
– Thea Hail said she was concerned that no one would carry the Chase U flag, which Duke Hudson responded by going full Kool-Aid man and carrying the flag. This comes after it was reported that Bohdi Hayward was released from NXT (you can read more of this here).
Thea Hail (w/ Duke Hudson & Andre Chase) vs. Kiana James,
James hit a knee strike on Hail’s abdomen before punching her in the have and hitting a wrist lock slam on Hail. James hit a knee strike on Hail’s abdomen before getting Hail in a lateral press for a near fall. James went for a seated Abdominal Stretch on Hail before locking in a modified elbow lock on Hail. James hit knee drops on Hail’s arm before stomping her left ankle. James got Hail in an elbow lock on Hail, but Hail reversed it with an arm drag. Hail hit a lariat, a forearm strike, a corner elbow strike, a running dropkick, and a spinning neck breaker on James. Hail went for a cross-body on James, but James rolled over and got her for a hold, but Hail turned it into a Small Package for a near fall. James hit the flat-liner on Hail for a near fall, thanks to Hudson placing Hail’s foot on the rope. Chase kicked Hudson to the back after his action, which allowed James to attack Hail again before hitting the 401K on Hail for the pinfall win.
Winner: Kiana James.
– Charlie Dempsey attacked Andre Chase after the match, but Duke Hudson made the save to send Mr. Regal’s son out of the ring. Hudson pulled Chase & Hail up after the match.
– Fallon Henley, Briggs Jensen & Josh Briggs were interviewed backstage before being interrupted Kiana James’ assistant, who gifted them a contract.
– Wes Lee & Bron Breakker were confronted by Mr. Stone backstage, with Mr. Stone saying that Breakker was afraid of Von Wagner facing him. Breakker told Stone to tell Wagner to confront him next time.
Odyssey Jones vs. Javier Bernal.
Jones and Bernal began the match with Jones hitting a double-axe handle before hitting a short-hand shoulder tackle on Bernal. Jones hit a body slam on Bernal before hitting an overhead chop on Bernal. Jones hit three rolling sentons on Bernal. Bernal attacked Jones from behind, but Jones got Bernal in the Electric Chair position. Bernal got off Jones before hitting a chop block on Jones’ left leg and targeting Jones’ left leg. Jones pushed Bernal out of the ring, but Bernal got back in the ring and got Jones in a sleeper. Jones got back up and slammed Bernal in the corner before hitting a release Back-Suplex, two lariats, a shoulder tackle, a corner slam, and a Black Hole Slam on Bernal for the pinfall win.
Winner: Odyssey Jones.
– Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jane & NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose came to the ring for Rose’s One-Year Championship Celebration, with Champagne, roses, and a mattress in the ring. Dolin & Jane talked up Rose for her reign before putting a video package highlighting Rose’s career in WWE & NXT. Rose said she would not be dropping the title any time soon, but Alba Fyre attacked everyone in Toxic Attraction. Fyre hit a Gory Bomb on Dolin through a table before Fyre revealed that she would take out Jane and that she would take the title off Rose.
– Apollo Crews was interviewed backstage by McKenzie Mitchell, saying he was not sure if Breakker wanted a match against him. Von Wagner confronted Crews backstage with Wagner saying he was the future of the NXT Championship.
– There was another voice mail from SCRYPTS. SCRYPTS said that his message is written on the walls and that he would leave his mark on his imminent arrival to NXT.
Indi Hartwell vs. Zoey Stark (w/ Nikkita Lyons).
The two locked up to begin the match before Hartwell hit a shoulder tackle on Stark, but Stark got back up. Hartwell hit a second-shoulder tackle before hitting three short-hand tackles on Stark. Stark got Hartwell in the corner and hit two corner spears and two vicious overhead chops on Hartwell. Stark hit a springboard cross-body on Hartwell for a near fall. Stark slammed Hartwell onto the corner before going for a low-lariat, but Hartwell hit two body slams and a clothesline to send Stark out of the ring before the commercial break. Back from the break, Stark got Hartwell in a chin lock before she and Hartwell exchanged forearm strikes. Hartwell punched Stark in the head before hitting a pump-kick on Stark for a near fall. Stark hit a lariat, a forearm strike, a thrust kick, and a sliding knee strike on Hartwell for a near fall. Stark hit a running uppercut on Hartwell, but Hartwell launched Stark on the apron. Stark hit a springboard Phoenix Splash on Hartwell for a near fall and started to fire away with the stomps on Hartwell. Hartwell got back up and hit three short-hand lariats on Stark but Stark responded with a thrust kick on Hartwell before sending her outside of the ring. Stark went for a powerbomb on Hartwell onto the broadcast table but resisted and sent Hartwell back inside the ring. Hartwell got up and connected Stark with a big boot followed by the Hidden Blade elbow strike on Stark for the pinfall win.
Winner: Indi Hartwell.
– There was a vignette of a mysterious man saying that it was time for high justice and new authority while recording in a tape, teasing the return of Dominik Dijakovic to NXT.
– Sanga told Valentina Feroz that he would not follow her to her match Veer Mahan confronted Sanga and told him that people took his kindness for weakness as Wendy Choo watched along.
– Nikita Lyons and Zoey Stark talked backstage, with Stark saying that she getting on her head. NXT Women’s Tag Champions Kayden Carter & Katana Chance confronted them backstage ahead of their match against them next week.
Cora Jade vs. Valentina Feroz.
Jade pushed Feroz before Feroz locked up Jade. Jade hit a front leg sweep on Feroz, but Feroz responded with two vicious arm drags, a wheelbarrow Meteora and a single-leg kick on Jade. Jade hit a forearm strike on Feroz and slammed Feroz’s face on the apron. Back in the ring, Jade stomped down Feroz for a near fall. Jade & Feroz laid in the punches before placing Feroz on the middle rope and hitting a running uppercut on Feroz for a near fall. Feroz made Jade bounce off the ropes before getting her in an inside cradle for a near fall. Jade hit a vicious lariat on Jade. Feroz went for a middle rope cross-body, but Jade evaded and hit a running senton and a Hammerlock DDT on Feroz for the pinfall win.
Winner: Cora Jade.
– After the match, Jade tried to attack Feroz, but Wendy Choo returned to NXT and attacked Jade to make the save. Jade ran out of the ring as Choo held Jade’s kendo stick.
– Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo revealed that he would face Hank Walker next week before Elektra Lopez revealed that she rejoined The Family. Lopez said that she was more dangerous now than she was before.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match.
Wes Lee & Bron Breakker vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) (c).
The match began with Lee and Wilson locking up before Wilson got Lee in a wrist lock. Lee rolled to get a wrist lock of his own on Wilson. Lee got Wilson in a headlock before going for a sunset flip on Wilson for a near fall. Lee got a roll-up on Wilson for a near fall and Wilson tried to trip Lee, but Lee did a back flip to evade. Lee did an arm-drag takedown on Prince, hyper-extending the elbow before tagging in Breakker. Breakker hit a standing moonsualt on Prince. Prince slapped Breakker, but Breakker was unphased. Breakker hit a back body drop on Prince before hitting a lighting quick lariat on Prince. Lee tagged back in, but Prince hit a pop-up face slam on Lee. Wilson and Prince went for a double suplex, but Lee & Breakker hit a double Frankensteiner on Wilson & Lee to send them to the outside. Back in the ring, Lee got a waist lock on Wilson, but Wilson tagged in Prince. Prince kicked Lee in the arm before targeting Lee’s left arm. Lee flipped over Prince before hitting an arm drag on Prince again. Lee had Prince in an arm lock before he and Breakker hit a double back-elbow on Prince, followed by Lee hitting a standing shooting star on Prince for a near fall. Lee got a headlock on Prince Lee hit a rebound Tijeras on Prince for a near fall. Lee hit a pop-up shotgun dropkick on Prince, but Prince got Lee in an O’Connor Roll on Lee for a near fall. Lee hit a sliding dropkick on Prince, but Wilson did the blind tag and attacked Lee. Back in the ring, Wilson hit a leaping uppercut on Lee before hitting a slap at Lee. Wilson hit a neck breaker on Lee for a near fall. Lee and Wilson exchanged forearm strikes, but Prince tagged in and hit a leaping uppercut on Lee before stomping away on Lee. Prince hit a bodyslam on Lee followed by two elbow drops on Lee. Lee evaded Wilson and Prince before Breakker tagged in. Breakker hit a series of tackles on Wilson, a bulldog on Prince, and a double suplex on Prince & Wilson. Breakker launched Lee onto Wilson & Prince before Lee hit a thrust kick on Wilson. Breakker took himself and Prince out of the ring before Carmelo Hayes pushed Lee off the top rope. Wilson got Lee in a crucifix pin for the pinfall win.
Winners & Still NXT Tag Team Champions: Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson)
– Lee and Hayes brawled out of the ramp before Von Wagner hit a big boot on Breakker from out of nowhere. Apollo Crews saw things unfold backstage before JD McDonagh confronted Crews and told him that he will need more than his vision to win the title. Crews looked concerned at Wagner standing tall as the broadcast ended.
