WWE NXT Results for 8/7/19 Matt Riddle vs Killian Dain, Shane Thorne vs Joaquin Wilde

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of tonight’s edition of NXT from Full Sail Live headlined by Matt Riddle and Killian Dain in the main event!
-NXT General Manager William Regal is in the ring to officiate the contract signing for the NXT Tag Team Championship match between the champions The Street Profits and Undisputed Era. Bobby and Kyle say that SP aren’t on their level and that they stand no chance leaving with the belts and that they’re better and funnier than them. Street Profits talk about everything Undisputed Era has done including being multiple time champions, shocking the system and beating nearly every team in NXT before saying that they’re possibly the best team in NXT history. Ford says that losing is not an option for them and the only option is to win before both sides sign the contract and SP leave as we go to commercial.
-We get a video package for the NXT North American Championship triple threat match between the champion Velveteen Dream, Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne.
-We get a plug for Slipknot’s new single by singer Corey Taylor himself before getting an extended video package for the NXT Women’s Championship match between champion Shayna Baszler and Mia Yim.
Shane Thorne vs Joaquin Wilde
Shane backs Wilde into the ropes for a clean break before Wilde rolls him up for a quick two count and Wilde takes Shane down before mocking him. They exchange wrist locks and arm wringers before Wilde hits a hip toss into a straight armbar and chops Thorne before hitting a springboard arm drag for a quick two count. Thorne hits a brainbuster and drops Wilde with an uppercut before Wilde hits a slingshot clothesline and a jawbreaker into a diving back elbow. Wilde hits a powerbomb off of the top for a near fall before they exchange strikes until Wilde sends Thorne out of the ring and hits several topes, including one through the ropes in the corner. Thorne gets back into the ring at the count of nine before rolling right back out of the ring and sends Wilde into the steps and onto the ramp when he drags him out of the ring. Thorne then rolls Wilde back into the ring and hits a running knee for the pin and the win.
Winner: Shane Thorne defeats Joaquin Wilde via pinfall with a running knee.
-We get a video package tribute for the late WWE and NWA legend Harley Race.
-We get an extended video package for Io Shirai and her opponent at Takeover, her former friend Candice LeRae.
Matt Riddle vs Killian Dain
Dain attacks Matt when he’s coming down to the ring before hitting a cannonball into the steps and leaving, the match never getting started.
Winner: Match never got started.
-Tyler Breeze and Fandango are interviewed about Fandango’s return and what Fandango calls the re-imagining of Breezango before its announced they’re facing the Forgotten Sons next week.
-We end the show with video packages for the NXT Breakout Tournament which will be decided at on next week’s with Jordan Myles and Cameron Grimes with the winner earning a shot at the title of his choosing and one for the NXT Championship Two out of Three Falls match between the champion Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano where it’s shown how Johnny is a cornerstone of NXT and the Performance Center and how beloved Adam Cole is and how he runs the circuit like everyone else does and defends his title on house shows and that he doesn’t just show up for NXT television.
