WWE NXT Live Coverage 11/16 Cedric Alexander VS Andrade Almas & More!
This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight’s episode of WWE NXT! We are three days away from NXT Takeover: Toronto where NXT World champion Shinsuke Nakamura defends his title in a rematch against Samoa Joe, but tonight looks to settle a heated rivalry as Cedric Alexander finally gets his hands on the Mexican Sensation; Andrade Almas! Liv Morgan vs Peyton Royce
They exchange right hands to start the match then Royce drops Liv first with a grab of her hair then a knee to the midsection and finally a headbutt. Peyton puts her out onto the apron then does a submission in the ropes, the two exchanging forearms then Liv rolls her up for a quick 2 count. Liv drops Peyton repeatedly with clotheslines then a dropkick, following up with a bulldog then an STO. Liv puts on a guillotine choke, but Billie Kay comes in and breaks it up.
Winner: Liv Morgan via disqualification
-After the match Billie and Peyton take out Aliyah who comes down to the ring then start to Liv, but Ember Moon comes out and takes them both out. Ember and Liv hit dropkicks that send Royce and Kay to the outside as we get a recap of how the feud started between Cedric Alexander and Andrade Almas then a plug for their match in the main event as we go to commercial.
-We get a video package for the Dusty Classic as we come back from commercial. We get the return of Elias Samson to a lot of boos as he sings and plays guitar.
Elias Samson vs Nathan Cruz
They lock up to start the match then Samson drops Cruz, Cruz getting a quick 2 count then puts a wrist lock on Samson, but he quickly reverses it and snaps his arm against the ropes, stomping on him afterwards. Samson hits a knee as Cruz is hung up on the apron then Samson hits a spinning neckbreaker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Elias Samson via pinfall
-Aliyah, Liv and Ember are interviewed in the back about how they and why they teamed up against Peyton and Billie as we go to commercial.
-As we come back we get a video package for #DIY and their hope of finally becoming NXT tag team champions and defeating The Revival. We then get another plug for our main event as we go to commercial.
-As we come back we get a video package that shows how Bobby Roode turned on Tye Dillinger and set up their match at Takeover. They show an interesting career retrospective for Tye Dillinger including his initial WWE run and subsequent release and how this is his redemption.
Andrade Almas vs Cedric Alexander
Almas pulls a Yano and uses the ropes to avoid any engagement repeatedly, Cedric just getting upset and Almas puts on a side headlock that Cedric quickly powers out of, but Almas drops him then poses a lot like Naito does before rolling to the ropes. Almas whips Cedric into the corner and Cedric hits a headscissor then a dropkick before hitting him with a series of right hands and chops in the corner. Cedric misses a chop then Almas does then Cedric lands a brutal chop before stomping Almas into the corner. Cedric chops him again so hard Almas nearly falls backwards over the top rope. Almas slides out of the ring then Cedric hits a wrecking ball dropkick that sends Almas face first into the ramp. Cedric rolls him back into the ring and stomps on Almas for a quick 1 count then Almas drops him with a dropkick when he runs the ropes. Almas stomps Cedric in the corner then slaps him right across the face. Cedric backs Almas into a corner and hits him repeatedly with right hands and chops before he goes for a springboard move, but Almas hits a dropkick in mid air as we go to commercial.
Almas hits a dropkick for a quick 2 count then chokes Cedric in the corner, following up with a Yakuza kick for another quick 2 count. Cedric rolls him up for a quick 2 count then Almas hits a series of elbows that drop Cedric then a bridging suplex for yet another quick 2 count. Almas applies an armbar, but Cedric powers out only for Almas to put a triangle in the ropes just like Minoru Suzuki does, Almas showing off a lot of moves you are likely to see in Japan. Almas focuses on the left arm of Cedric with another armbar this time a Fujiwara, but Cedric gets to the ropes quickly. Almas keeps on the left arm of Cedric until Cedric dropkicks the knee of Almas, following up with a series of running forearms then a springboard enzugiri that sends Almas to the outside. Cedric flips over the top rope onto Almas then puts him back into the ring, going to the top rope and hits a springboard elbow drop for a close 2 count. Cedric hits a Greenbay plunge then misses a moonsault, Almas hitting a powerbomb for a very close 2 count then goes for the running double knee only for Cedric to hit the Lumbar Check. Almas gets to the ropes quickly then Cedric is caught between the ropes, Almas hitting a reverse straightjacket DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Andrade Almas via pinfall
-We get a video package for Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe in the main event of Takeover this Saturday as we go off the air.
