WWE NXT Results for 10/16/19 Tommaso Ciampa vs Angel Garza, Pete Dunne vs Damian Priest

The Blackheart returns to NXT and Pete Dunne seeks revenge against Damian Priest tonight at 8pm EST on USA Network!

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of tonight’s edition of WWE NXT on the USA Network headlined by the return of Tommaso Ciampa!

-We open the show with recap of last week’s show.

Tommaso Ciampa vs Angel Garza

Ciampa drops Angel with a shoulder tackle, Garza avoiding Ciampa and doing several flips before dropping Ciampa with an enzuigiri, Ciampa catching him when he goes for a suicide dive. Back in the ring Angel counters Ciampa’s finisher and backs him into the corner before sending him out of the ring and hitting a suicide dive before hitting a missile dropkick once they’re back in the ring. Garza rips his pants off and throws them at Ciampa before Ciampa stomps him down in the corner and hits a running knee in the corner before doing the same to his pants. Ciampa then hits Angel with a draping DDT once he tries to get back into the ring for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa defeats Angel Garza via pinfall with a draping DDT.

-After the match Ciampa sits on a chair with his crutch as Undisputed Era come out and surround the ring before Kyle gives something to Mauro on commentary. Undisputed Era then wave good bye to Ciampa as we go to commercial.

-We return to see a video of the aftermath of Undisputed Era’s attack on The Velveteen Dream which was on the USB drive Kyle gave Mauro.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) w/WALTER

Danny and Fabian start the match off before Danny and Oney double up on Fabian who drives Danny onto the corner and Marcel comes in and drops Danny with a dropkick as we go to commercial.

We return to Oney getting tagged in and sending Fabian out of the ring before he and Danny hit topes and Danny a German suplex for a two count before Oney and Fabian exchange strikes until Oney knocks Marcel from the apron. Fabian hits a brainbuster into a moonsault for a near fall before Oney chops both members of Imperium. Imperium then hit a spinebuster into a PK and finish with a European bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Imperium defeat Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch via pinfall when they pin Oney with a European bomb.

-We get a video package for the career of Johnny Gargano before he’s interviewed about the return of Tommaso Ciampa and their rivalry.

Io Shirai vs Kayden Carter

Kayden takes Io down with a single leg before they flip and Io lands on her feet when Kayden goes for a huricanrrana before Kayden gets a quick two count off of a roll up. Kayden hits a basement dropkick before Io rolls out of the ring and drops Kayden onto the apron before hitting a springboard missile dropkick for a two count. Io then hits a German suplex and a moonsault for the pin and the win.

Winner: Io Shirai defeats Kayden Carter via pinfall with a moonsault.

-After the match Rhea Ripley confronts Io who quickly curses her out in Japanese and leaves before its announced by William Regal that the winner of Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic will challenge for the North American Championship.

NXT North American Championship Number One Contender Match

Keith Lee vs Dominik Dijakovic

They try to knock each other over before Keith lifts Dom in the air with one hand and they run the ropes until Keith drops Dom and hits a falling headbutt for a quick two count. Keith then focuses on the left arm of Dom before Dom comes back with a kick and a clothesline for a quick two count as we go to commercial.

Dom hits Keith with strikes, but it just infuriates him and Keith beats him down in the corner before hitting a running splash into an overhead belly to back suplex and running forearm before nearly sending Dom out of the ring with a running shoulder block. Dom hits a choke bomb for a two count before Dom sets Keith on the top turnbuckle and goes for a superplex before Keith knocks him down and hits a splash onto the arm of Dom from the second rope. Keith hits the Spirit Bomb before Dom rolls out of the ring to avoid the pin before Keith rolls Dom back into the ring and rocks Dom with a forearm before Dom drops him with a cyclone kick for a near fall. Keith hits delayed suplex for a near fall before hitting a reverse huricanrrana for another near fall and goes a Spirit Bomb off of the top before Roderick Strong attacks Keith Lee for the disqualification.

Winner: No contest due to interference by Roderick Strong.

-After the match William Regal announces that Roderick Strong will defend his NXT North American Championship against both Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic in a triple threat match next week.

-We see Undisputed Era’s reaction to the triple threat match.

Matt Riddle vs Bronson Reed

Bronson goes for a German suplex before Matt teases the Final Flash and hits an exploder suplex into a PK for a quick two count before Bronson counters a senton into one of his own. Matt hits a series of palm strikes and a GTS into a powerbomb and the Final Flash for a near fall before Matt goes up top and Bronson counters the Floating Bro into a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall of his own. Matt then locks in a sleeper before hitting a variation of a Styles clash for the pin and the win.

Winner: Matt Riddle defeats Bronson Reed via pinfall with a variation of a Styles clash.

-After the match Matt and Bronson exchange fist bumps before we get a video package for Bianca Belair.

-It’s announced that KUSHIDA re-injured his wrist in his match against WALTER and will out of action for at least a month.

Tegan Nox vs Taynara

Nox rolls Taynara up for a quick two count before hitting several arm drags and Taynara boots her through the ropes and out onto the floor before rolling her back into the ring and hits several judo tosses. Taynara hits running knees in the corner for a one count before Nox comes back with a clothesline and an uppercut into a chokeslam and a running back elbow in the corner into a cannonball in the corner. Nox then hits a diving cross body into a shining wizard for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tegan Nox defeats Taynara via pinfall with a shining wizard.

-After the match Tegan is interviewed before Dakota Kai comes out and hugs her and they’re interrupted by the Horsewomen. Shayna mocks Tegan and Dakota before saying that she hasn’t earned a title shot before leaving as we go to commercial.

-We get a video for the returning Finn Bálor where he talks about how he’s returning to action on next week’s show.

BOA vs Killian Dain

BOA rushes Dain and kicks him in the corner before dropping him down to his knees and Dain rolls out of the ring before Dain is waiting and hits a running cross body before rolling BOA back into the ring and hitting an elbow drop and stomping BOA in the corner. Dain whips BOA across the ring and knees him in the midsection before hitting a snap suplex for a two count and locking in a variation of a rear chin lock. BOA comes back with strikes before Dain drops him with a lariat and hits a slam into a senton and three Vader bombs and a variation of an abdominal stretch BOA is forced to tap for the win.

Winner: Killian Dain defeats BOA via submission with a variation of an abdominal stretch.

-We get a video package for the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush.

-Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair is announced for next week’s show.

Pete Dunne vs Damian Priest

On his way to the ring Pete has an exchange of words with Killian Dain before he snaps his fingers and Dain is taken to the back as we go to commercial.

Damian dropkicks Pete before Pete rocks him with a lariat and takes him down to the mat before stomping on his shoulder, Damian rolling out onto the apron before Pete kicks his arm. Pete rolls Damian back into the ring, but he rolls back out and they exchange on the apron until Damian drops Pete off of the apron and down onto the floor with a boot before rolling him back into the ring and posing as we go to commercial.

We return to Pete superplexing Damian off of the top turnbuckle before kicking the legs of Damian and hitting an enzuigiri into a dropkick to the knee and a German suplex before Damian rolls out of the ring and Pete hits a moonsault to the floor. Back in the ring Pete hits a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall before stomping his head and locks in a flying armbar before transitioning into a triangle before Damian sends him into the ring post. Damian hits a razors edge for a near fall before Pete rolls out of the ring and Damian hits a springboard somersault senton before rolling Pete back into the ring and catches Pete on the top turnbuckle. Damian hits a frankensteiner into South of Heaven for a near fall before they brawl until Damian turns Pete inside out and they counter each other’s finishers until they collapse. Pete then goes to snap Damian’s fingers before Damian low blows him and hits The Reckoning for the pin and the win.

Winner: Damian Priest defeats Pete Dunne via pinfall with The Reckoning
