WWE NXT Halloween Havoc (10/24/2023) Results: Becky Lynch vs Lyra Valkyria, Lexis King Debut, More

Results for Night One of NXT Halloween Havoc.

On October 24, 2023, WWE hosted Night One of NXT Halloween Havoc on the USA Network. The show was headlined by Becky Lynch defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Lyra Valkyria. 

Also on the show, Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo defended the NXT Tag Titles against Chase University, Roxanne Perez faced Kiana James in a Devil’s Playground Match, Gigi Dolin and Blair Davenport fought in a Lights Out Match, Lexis King (Brian Pillman Jr) made his in-ring debut & more. WWE NXT Halloween Havoc – Night One (10/24/2023).

  • After a performance from New Years Day singing the theme song for Halloween Havoc “Vampyre”, Vic Joseph & Booker T welcomed the audience to the broadcast before tossing it to the hosts of the event, Scarlett & Shotzi (cosplaying as Marie Antoinette & Pinhead respectively), who did the introductions for the opening contest.
  • Devil’s Playground Match: Roxanne Perez def. Kiana James.
    • Perez came to the event cosplaying as Freddy Krueger, while Kiana James was wearing Orange and black (no word on if it was a tribute to Taz or Team FTW).
      The finish came when Perez got James back and slammed it into her head before hitting the Pop Rox into the Bag (which had a brick inside) for the win. 
  • Vic Joseph had a sit-down interview with Carmelo Hayes. Hayes denied attacking Trick Williams and then addressed his title match against NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov. Hayes said that he was aiming to regain what is his and said that there were no more distractions in his way, but did dedicate his win next week to Williams.
  • The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend & Oro Mensah) were playing with the Ouija board. While they were distracted, Akira Tozawa stole Dar’s heritage cup. 
  • Lexis King def. Dante Chen.
  • Chase University (Andre Chase & Duke Hudson) spoke with Jacy Jayne & Thea Hail, stating that they were happy to have them at ringside for their title match. 
  • NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament – Semifinal Match: Kelani Jordan def. Arianna Grace.
    • Jordan wrestled with gear inspired by Spider-Gwen. She won the match by hitting the Split-Leg Moonsault on Grace for the win.
  • Von Wagner was training on his way to recovery before being met by Mr. Stone. Wagner told Stone he was crazy for challenging Bron Breakker to a match, but Stone responded by saying that he would do anything for a friend. Stone will face Breakker next week.
  • Shotzi & Scarlett (now dressed as Edward Scissorhands & a Vampire) promoted their show “Chamber of Horrors” before being interrupted by Diamond Mine (Brutus Creed, Julius Creed & Ivy Nile) and demanded a match against Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza. Scarlett & Shotzi agreed and told them to spin the wheel to pick the stipulation for their match. The wheel landed in Tables, Ladders & Scares (TLC Match) as the stipulation next week. 
  • NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Chase University (Andre Chase & Duke Hudson) (w/ Thea Hail & Jacy Jayne) def. The Family (Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo) (c), NEW CHAMPIONS!
    • Jayne slipped Chase the crowbar, but Chase tossed it out of the ring. D’Angelo accidentally pushed Jayne off the apron into the floor, but that allowed Chase to catch D’Angelo with a Victory Roll to become the new Tag Champions. 
  • Nathan Frazer hosted a new edition of “Hard Hitting Home Truths” to talk trash about NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio. Frazer challenged Dominik to a match for the title at Night Two of NXT Halloween Havoc. 
  • There was a vignette showing fans from Ireland talking about the NXT Women’s Championship Match between Becky Lynch & the challenger, Lyra Valkyria. 
  • Baron Corbin was interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell, who stated that he tried to do everything to win the Triple Threat match. After saying that sentence, Mitchell asked Corbin if he attacked Trick Williams, but Corbin stated that he did not do it because he would have done it face-to-face with Williams. Corbin says that he only cares about Ilja Dragunov & the NXT World Championship. 
  • Lights Out Match: Gigi Dolin vs. Blair Davenport.
    • Dolin had gear inspired by the character & movie “Beetlejuice” while Davenport had gear inspired by the character Georgie from “It”. 
      The finish of the match came when Blair Davenport hit a Flacon Arrow from the Broadcast table into another table. Davenport brought Dolin to the ring and got her in a lateral press for the win.
  • Vic Joseph had a sit-down interview with NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov. Dragunov talked about moving from Russia to Germany and his child holding his NXT Championship, saying that those moments are what motivates him as a champion. Dragunov told Joseph that he understood that Hayes & he will have another classic, but promised to break Hayes again to retain the title.
    Hayes watched the interview backstage before being interrupted by Shotzi & Scarlett (cosplaying as the Twins from The Shinning). They told Hayes that all signs led to him attacking Trick Williams, but Hayes told them to mess with someone else.
  • Vic Joseph Interviews Carmelo Hayes & NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov ahead of their match on Night Two of Halloween Havoc.
  • Sarah Schrieber interviewed Tiffany Stratton who said that she did not care about who won the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament, but she was interrupted by Fallon Henley with a “Tiffany Stratton” costume. 
  • NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament – Semifinal Match: Lola Vice (w/ Elektra Lopez) def. Karmen Petrovic.
  • Andre Chase & Duke Hudson celebrated their Tag Title win with Jacy Jayne & Thea Hail before being interrupted by WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Piper Niven & Chelsea Green (cosplaying as The Wolf & Red Riding Hood). Jayne & Hail challenged Green & Niven for the Women’s Tag Titles for Night Two of NXT Halloween Havoc. 
  • The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend & Oro Mensah) argued with a security guard before Legend revealed to Dar a picture of Tozawa with the Trophy. Tozawa texted them that if they wanted the trophy, to come & take it at a Haunted House.  
  • Bron Breakker met with Carmelo Hayes backstage. While Hayes denied attacking Trick Williams, Brea
  • NXT Women’s Championship Match: Lyra Valkyria def. Becky Lynch (c)/ NEW CHAMPION!
    • Jade Cargill watched the match from the Raven’s Nest.
      After Valkyria kicked out of the Manhandle Slam, Lyra got back up and went for the Spinning Lariat, but Lynch evaded. Lynch went for another Uranage, but Valkyria reversed it with a deep Lateral Press for the win to become the new NXT Women’s Champion. Lyra Valkyria stood tall to end the broadcast.
