WWE NXT 2.0 Results For 3/22/2022: Bron Breakker vs Robert Roode, A-Kid vs Grayson Waller + More

– The show begins with Carmello Hayes and Trick Williams entering the NXT Capitol Wrestling Center in a car, promoting the matches for tonight, including A-Kid vs Grayson Waller, and the opener of the show, Roderick Strong vs Solo Sikoa.
North American Championship Ladder Match Qualifier
Roderick Strong (w/ Malcolm Bivens) vs Solo Sikoa
The match begins with Solo Sikoa cornering Strong to the ropes, leading to Strong doing a takedown on Sikoa. Strong got a headlock on Sikoa, but Sikoa punched Strong in the head before hitting a shoulder block. After a series of stomps from Sikoa, Sikoa maintained control on the offense. Strong regained offense and got a Camel Clutch on Solo Sikoa, which transitioned to a running boot from Strong for a near fall. Sikoa tried to come back with a series fo kicks, but Strong caught a kick by hitting a backbreaker for a near fall. After multiple chops from Strong on Sikoa, Sikoa tried to get a suplex on Strong, but Strong stomped his foot to stop the move.
Strong a kick to the chest of Sikoa for a near fall, followed by a modified Kimora Lock, followed by an Angle Slam from Strong for a near fall. After this move, Santos Escobar walk into the arena to scout the match, with Sikoa hitting a face buster on Strong. Sikoa hit a headbutt on Strong, followed by a Ring-post splash, followed by a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Sikoa went to the top turnbuckle to attempt a frog splash, but Strong neutralized to try a Superplex. Sikoa pushed Strong off the turnbuckle, and followed that up with a frog Splash for the pinfall win.
Winner: Solo Sikoa
– After the match, Persia Perotta and Indi Hartwell discussed the segment from the previous week, where they exchanged kisses with Duke Hudson and Dexter Lumis. Perotta stated that Indi was jealous of her and Duke Hudson, which Indi followed by inviting her to ringside for the match between Dexter Lumis and Tony D’Angelo.
Tony D’Angelo vs Dexter Lumis (w/ Indi Hartwell, Due Hudson and Persia Perotta)
The match began with both wrestlers locking up, followed by Lumis crawling to D’Angelo to taunt him. Lumis attempted the code of Silence, but D’Angelo got a Belly to Belly Suplex on Lumis, followed by Stomps on Lumis. Lumis hit a Thesz Press, followed by sending D’Angelo to multiple turnbuckles. Lumis hit a Fall-away Slam, followed by a kick-up, before hitting a running elbow on D’Angelo for a near fall. Lumis hit a bodyslam, followed by a Standing Leg-drop on D’Angelo for a near fall. Lumis got a head lock on D’Angelo, before D’Angelo reversed it with a chin-breaker. After brawling outside, D’Angelo slammed the face of Lumis on the stairs before the commercial break.
After Duke Hudson distracted Lumis to motivate him, Perisa Perotta and D’Angelo tried to get the crowbar from each other, but D’ANgelo accidentally swong the crow bar on Lumis. The referee did not catch the hit, though, and D’Angelo hit the Fisherman’s Suplex for the pinfall victory. After the match, D’Angelo state that he didn’t come to the ring the previous week to pay tribute to Tommasso Ciampa, but Ciampa hit him with the Fairytale Ending on D’Angelo. Ciampa stated that he would see him in Dallas.
Winner: Tony D’Angelo
– Backstage, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode were interview by Mackenzie Mitchell, with Roode stating that he will prove why he is still the Glorious One. Ziggler followed up by saying that Roode proved why Breakker was not on the same level as Roode and Ziggler.
– Grayson Waller cut a promo backstage, stating that there was no way he was going to miss Stand & Deliver. He stated that
Elektra Lopez (w/ Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza) vs Fallon Henley (w/ Jensen & Josh Briggs)
The match began with Elektra Lopez taking control quickly, tossing her across the ring and hitting a face buster on Henley for a near fall. Lopez dragged henley from the hairs, locking in Henley on a Backstretch before Henley reversed it for a pinfall combination for a near fall. Legado del Fantasma brawled with Brggs & Jensen to the outside of the arena, leading to Henley kicking Lopez in the corner, before hitting a Running Bulldog for a near fall. Elektra Lopez got a hold of Lopez with a Slam to Henley for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Elektra Lopez (w/ Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza)
– Backstage, Xyon Quinn and Draco Anthony viewed a video sent from Joe Gacy. Gacy tried to convince Anthony to join his faction in the video, which led to Xyon Quinn telling Anthony that he knew what to do. Anthony stated that he will confront Gacy like a man.
– Backstaged, Wendy Choo referenced Dakota Kai winning the Dusty Cup on 2021, with Choo saying that she will win it again with a new best friend. After Choo referenced the heated feud, Kai interrupted by saying that she will become the first two-time Dusty Cup Winner, a feat never achieved in NXT.
Robert Roode (w/ Dolph Ziggler) vs Bron Breakker
The match began with Breakker and Roode locking up, with Roode hitting a shoulder block on Breakker before doing Jumping Jacks while Breakker was on the ground. Breakker hit a shoulder block on his own, with Breakker taunting him with a Dog pose on Roode. Roode kicked Breakker in the abdomen, before he and Breakker exchanged punches. After Breakker leapfrogged Roode, Roode tried to do the same before getting caught in a modified body slam from Breakker. Breakker and Roode brawled outside, before Roode stomped Breakked multiple times, which was followed by a suplex on Breakker. Roode hit another suplex on Breakker, but Breakker stood up and hit Roode with a shoulder block. Breakker tried a spear on Roode, but he collided with the turn buckle. Ziggler stood on the apron before the was kicked out of the match before the picture-in-picture break.
During the picture-in-picture break, Roode went to the top rope and hit a top-rope lariat for a near fall. Roode focused on twisting Breakker’s neck, which was followed by a headlock from Roode. Breakker escaped the move, but Roode hit a neck breaker on Breakker before taunting the crowd. Roode hit a knee-drop on Breakker, and continued to have control by hitting a top-rope blockbuster for a near fall.
After the break, Roode punched Breakker in the face, and followed that up a clothesline. Roode hit an elbow drop on Breakker for a near fall, but Roode moved into doing push-ups to taunt Breakker. Roode hit another neckbreaker for another near fall, and he went up on the top rope. Breakker intercepted Roode by hitting a Frankensteiner on Roode. Breakker hit a series of shoulder blocks before hitting an over-head suplex on Roode, but Roode caught him for a spine buster for another near fall. Roode went for the Glorious DDT, but Breakker got out by hitting a clothesline on Roode. Breakker attempted a Spear on Roode, but Roode hit him with his knee. Roode took too long to react and Breakker got to hit the Spear for a near fall. Breakker attempted his Deadlift Powerslam, but Roode hit the Glorious DDT, but Breakker kicked out. Roode and Breakker exchanged punches, before Roode got to the middle rop to hit another aerial move. Roode got caught from the air to be hit with the Powerslam for the pinfall victory for Breakker.
After the match, Ziggler superkicked Breakker from behind his back, stated that he will remain NXT Champion Ziggler gets away.
Winner: Bron Breakker
– After the match, Persia Perotta stated that she did not let go of the crowbar on purpose and Perotta proceeded to say that Duke Hudson can beat any man in the roster. Lumis proceeded to draw GUNTHER on his drawing pad, challenging Hudson to face GUNTHER to prove he can beat anyone in the roster. Perotta accepted the challenge on behalf of Hudson, facing him later in the night.
– After the commercial break, Bhodi Hayward was shown reading an excerpt, stating that Von Wagner has been causing havoc on Chase University since he joined NXT 2.0, stating that he will wreslt ehim next wek.
North American Championship Ladder Match Qualifier
Grayson Waller (w/ Sanga) vs A-Kid
The match began with A-Kid attempting a modified ankle lock on Waller, followed by an arm drag and a drop-kick on Waller. Waller sent A-Kid to the middle rope, hitting a Running Punt on A-Kid. Akid caught Waller twice on an Inside Craddle for a near fall. Waller got A-kid in the fireman’s carry position, but A-Kid hit Waller with a Hurranacarana to send him outside. Waller tried toe rolling Stunner on A-Kid, but A-Kid caught Waller with a Sleeper hold, transitioning into a guillotine. After Waller escaped from the ring, Waller got to hit the Rolling Stunner for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Carmelo Hayes announced that the final North American Championship Ladder Match Qualifier will be Roderick Strong vs A-Kid vs Cameron Grimes next week, stating that A-Kid will never be A champion. Trick Williams stayed that he will see A-Mama, which led to Williams getting knocked out with an inseguri kick to end the segment.
Winner: Grayson Waller (w/ Sanga)
– Robert Stone was seen livid after Ikeman Jiro interrupted a negotiation between him and a mystery woman earlier on the day, which led to Von Wagner telling him to deal with one thing at a time. The mysterious woman came to the scene and pulled Stone to discussed, all while staring at Wagner during the segment.
The Creed Brothers vs Grizzed Young Veterans
The match began with James Drake being hit with a slam from Brutus Creed, which was followed by Julius Creed hitting a knee on Gibson. Gibson hit a clothesline on Julius Creed, but was hit with a over head Suplex form Julius. Julius got the Stretch Muffler before slamming him to the ground. Julius got a hold of Gibson, but he got hit with an inseguri from James Drake, which Drake hitting a missile dropkick on Brutus to take control of the match. Zack Gibson tagged back in and clubbed Julius before tagging in James Drake After Drake jumped from the top rope, Drake fell on his knee. Julius Creed intercepted the knee of Drake, with was followed by Brutus hitting the unnecessary clothesline for the pinfall win. After the match, a mysterious tag team was seeing vandalizing the Diamond Mine Dojo, with the mysterious vandals stating that they will continue to torment the Creed Brothers.
Duke Hudson (w/ Persia Perotta & Indi Hartwell) vs GUNTHER (w/ Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner)
The two began the match locking up, with Duke Hudson evading a chop from GUNTHER, but he got hit with a clothesline and a body slam. Hudson hit multiple punches and a chop on GUNTHER, but GUNTHER took Hudson down with a chop of his own. GUNTHER continued with the series of chops, which left Hudson stunned with a loud ” Holy Shit” chant from the crowd. After GUNTHER got a sleeper hold on Hudson, Hudson hit a big boot on GUNTHER to escape the damage. Hudson hit a German Suplex on GUNTHER for a near fall. Hudson attempted a Powerbomb on GUNTHER, but the Ring General hit a series of chops and a boot to the head on the corner, before hitting a Power bomb for the decisive Pinfall victory.
After the match, GUNTHER called out LA Knight to the ring, telling Knight that he represents everything that he is everything that is wrong with this business. That he can talk his way into matches, but he never wins. LA Knight challenged GUNTHER to a match on Stand & Deliver by punching GUNTHER, but IMPERIUM ambushed Knight in the ring. MSK cam in to the save of Knight, with Knight hitting a bodyslam on GUNTHER before clotheslining him to the outside of the ring
Winner: GUNTHER (w/ Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner)
– Cameron Grimes justified his word from the previous week, stating that his father was in the business prior to him. He stated that he promised his father to be a champion in NXT, but he passed away before he got to see him win a WWE Championship. He stated that he will win the Triple Threat next week to make good on that promise.
Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final
Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai vs Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray
The match began with Io Shirai and Wendy Choo locking up, with Choo hitting scissors on Io, but Io would cartwheel her way from getting fully hit by the move. Kay Le Ray tagged in, but Choo transitioned a camel clutch to a pinfall attempt for a near fall. Dakota Kai tagged in and hit multiple kicks on Ray for a near fall, but Io Shirai tagged in. Shirai attempted a 619 on Kai, but Choo blocked it with a pillow before being kicked by Shirai. Shirai got an Irish Whip on Kay Lee Ray, which led to Ray hitting a low- tope suicida on Choo, followed by Shirai hitting a Tope Suicida of her own on Kai before the picture-in-picture break.
During the break, Ray continued to focus her offense on Kai, before tagging in Shirai. Shirai hit a bodyslam on Kai for a near fall, and locked in a Labelle-lock on Kai. Kai got out and exchanged strikes and kicks with Shirai, who hit a modified Scorpion DDT, before tagging in Wendy Choo.
Wendy Choo hit a over head suplex on Kay Lee Ray, followed up by a cartwheel elbow on the corner, before hitting a nap-time elbow for a near fall. Kay Lee Ray went to the top rope, but Choo caught Ray with Super-Overhead Suplex for a near fall. Shirai tagged in and hit a Facebuster on Kai, followed by a 619. Kay Lee Ray tagged in to hit a top rope cannonball on Kai for a near fall. Ray went for the KLR Bomb, but Kai got the Kai-ropractor on Ray. After a Coup de Kai and a Splash, Shirai dropkicked Kai on Choo to break the pinfall count.Wendy Choo got hit with headbutt by Kay Lee Ray, which was followed by the KLR Bomb. Io Shirai ended proceeding by hitting a Moonsault from the top rope for the pinfall win, crowning this tag team as the 2022 Women’s Dusty Cup Winners.
Winners & 2022 Dusty Rhodes Classic Winners: Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray
– After the match, Mandy Rose interrupted the celebration to tell the new Dust Cup winners that they will not beat Gigi and Jacy, but Kay Lee Ray state that they only had one thing in mind and that is beating up Toxic Attraction. Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray proceeded to announce that they rather than cashing in their win on the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, they will cash in the win on making the NXT Women’s Championship a Fatal Four Way. Toxic Attraction proceeded to attack them, but Cora Jade made the save to end the show, with more questions than answers.
