WWE NXT (11/8/2022) Live Coverage.

– Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning to the opening match. 

Cameron Grimes vs. Joe Gacy (w/ Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid & Ava Raine).

Grimes laid in the kicks on Gacy to begin the match before hitting Hurricanrana and a running boot on Gacy in the corner. Grimes kicked Gacy in the chest but Gacy responded with an Irish Whip into a corner splash on Grimes. Gacy hit a strike on Grimes’ neck before connecting a snap-mare for a near fall. Grimes hit a running cross-body on Gacy before laying the punches on Gacy. Gacy hit a hip toss neck breaker on Grimes for a near fall. Gacy hit an elbow strike on Grimes’ head in the ropes before laying a jab on Grimes. Grimes got Gacy in an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Grimes kicked Gacy out of the ring before hitting a Penalty Kick on Gacy from the apron, which The Schism responded by surrounding Gacy. Reid distracted Grimes, but Grimes got Gacy in an arm-drag hold. Gacy punched Grimes to break the hold, but Grimes responded with a kick on Gacy’s chest. Gacy got up and hit an Irish Whip on Grimes in the corner before getting a near fall on Grimes. Gacy got a chin lock on Grimes, but Grimes hit two body shots to break the hold, but Gacy responded with a forearm strike and a back suplex on Grimes for a near fall. Gacy hit a running back elbow on Grimes for a near fall before locking in another chin lock on Grimes. Gacy brke the hold to hit a snap-mare into another chin lock on Grimes. Grimes broke the hold and leaped over Gacy, but Gacy caught Grimes and hit a vicious back-breaker on Grimes before laying in the elbow strikes on Grimes’ back. Gacy locked Grime in the LeBelle Lock before breaking the hold and hitting a leaping face-toss on Grimes. Grimes got p and hit a flipping cross-body on Gacy before stomping Reid’s hand. Grimes leaped over Gacy before hitting two forearm strikes on Gacy, a pump kick on Reid, a thrust kick, a German Suplex, a top rope cross-body, and a Poison Rana on Gacy in a flurry of offense. Gacy rolled to the outside with Reid & Fowler, but Grimes hit a Tope Con Giro on all Three. Grimes climbed to the top rope, but Raine pushed Grimes to the mat, allowing Gacy to hit the Upside Down Lariat on Grimes for the pinfall win. 

Winner: Joe Gacy (w/ Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid & Ava Raine).

– Backstage, Nathan Frazier spoke with Axiom backstage. Frazier said that he was sidelined for a few weeks after his efforts in Halloween Havoc. JD McDonagh confronted Axiom backstage before Axiom challenged him to a match for later in the night. 

– Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams headed back to the Barbershop. Hayes said that he had never been pinned to lose the NXT North American Championship. Hayes gave respect to Champion Wes Lee for becoming champion, but he was the second option because he had not beaten him. Hayes said that he will beat Lee for the title, with Williams giving Lee two weeks to keep the title. Hayes revealed that he & Lee will have a contract signing next week and a match the week after. 

– Vic Joseph & Booker T were interrupted by a poem written by Scrypts. The poem revealed that he would be making his way to NXT soon. 

Sol Ruca vs. Elektra Lopez.

The match began with Euca & Lopez locking up before Ruca slammed Lopez to the mat. Ruca hit a chop on Lopez before hitting a faceslam on Lopez off a rebound from the ropes. Lopez hit a vicious lariat on Ruca on the outside. Lopez got a lateral press on Ruca back in the ring for a near fall. Lopez hit a boot kick on Ruca before hitting a short-hand lariat, knee strikes to the back, and an elbow drop on Ruca for a near fall. Lopez got Ruca in a chin lock, but Ruca turned it into a roll-up for a near fall. Ruca hit two clotheslines, a dropkick, and a diving shoulder tackle before connecting a cartwheel corner splash on Ruca. Ruca climbed to the top rope, but Lopez pulled Ruca straight to the mat before connecting choke-bomb on Ruca for the pinfall win. 

Winner: Elektra Lopez. 

– Indi Hartwell attacked Lopez backstage, leading to an all-out brawl cut off by referees and officials.

– Andre Chase, Duke Hudson & Thea Hail were backstage. Hudson hyped up Chase & Hail backstage ahead of Chase’s match against NXT UK Standout & William Regal’s son Charlie Dempsey. 

– Jacy Jayne was in a car and facetimed NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, revealing that Gigi Dolin had three broken ribs. Rose invited Jayne to hang out but was pulled over by a car with a siren. In the phone camera, Jayne wasattacked from out of nowhere. Jayne’s attacker was revealed to be Alba Fyre, telling Rose she would be the last woman standing. 

Charlie Dempsey vs. Andre Chase (w/ Thea Hail & Duke Hudson).

Booker T revealed that a Special Council was investigating Chase U. Dempsey and Chase locked up before Dempsey hit a snap-mare into a shoulder tackle. Chase hit an inverse monkey flip on Demspey before clotheslining him to the outside. Chase got Dempsey in a Guillotine choke, but Dempsey broke the hold by hitting a northern light’s suplex before locking in the Kimura Lock on Chase. Chase reversed it with a roll-up for a near fall. Chase hit a ripcord punch, an Atomic drop, and a Russian leg sweep before connecting the Chase U Stomps on Dempsey. Chase went for a Uranage, but Dempsey reversed it into an ankle lock on Chase. Dempsey locked in the Regal Stretch on Chase, which led to Hudson throwing he towel to give Dempsey the win.

Winner: Charlie Dempsey.

– Indi Hartwell was interviewed backstage by McKenzie Mitchell, with Hartwell saying that no one would be taking advantage of her, emphasizing that she would be targeting Elektra Lopez after her attack. 

– Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen were drinking backstage before Kiana James & her assistant. James tried to buy Henley’s family bar but Henley rejected her offer decisively before she kicked the two of them out.

Hank Walker vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

Walker and Stacks began the match by exchanging punches before Walker hit body shots and a hip toss on Stacks. Stacks leaped over Walker before hitting an uppercut on Walker. Stacks went for a shoulder tackle on Walker, but Walker shook it off and launched Stacks out of the ring. Stacks slammed Walker’s neck on the top rope before tripping Walker back in the ring and laying in elbow strikes on Walker. Stacks hit three knee strikes on Walker’s face for a near fall. Walker hit a vicious lariat before connecting a Thesz Press on Stacks. Stacks ran the ropes, but Walker pounced Stacks off the ground before hitting two corner splashes and a faceslam on Stacks. Stacks smacked Walker in the face before gouging his eyes and getting a roll-up on Walker for a near fall, but Stacks responded immediately with a curb knee to the back of Walker’s neck for the pinfall win. 

Winner: Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo (w/ Tony D’Angelo).

– Grayson Waller hosted a new edition of The Grayson Waller Effect, with Von Wagner (w/ Mr. Stone) & NXT Champion Bron Breakker as guests. Wagner said that he was not expecting people in NXT to like it, but that he was here for one thing only and that was the NXT Title. Mr. Stone interrupted Breakker and said Wagner was more powerful than anyone he had ever faced, but Breakker told Wagner to try the funny business he did last week. Waller said that he knew a better talent that could beat Breakker, but that would be a story for a later time. Breakker detailed the history of the NXT Championship and detailed different challengers like Apollo Crews, JD McDonagh, and more before saying that they would have to drag him to take the belt off him. Wagner said that it took three people to make him lose his first tile match before promising that he would take the title off Breakker’s shoulder. Breakker slammed Stone’s face to the desk before Wagner & Breakker faced off.

– NXT North American Champion Wes Lee backstage, with Lee acknowledging that Hayes made the North American Title the A-Title. Lee agreed to a contract signing and a match against Hayes for the title but emphasized that no one would take the belt off him.

– Cora Jade cut a promo backstage, saying Wendy Choo had a friend complex. Jade said that Choo can go in the ring, but slandered Choo for wanting to be everyone’s friend before saying Choo should think twice before trying to make a friend at her expense. 

– Apollo Crews cut a promo in Nigeria as he was a part of WWE’s Africa recruits. Crews called out Breakker, saying that he would become the next NXT Champion. 

JD McDonagh vs. Axiom.

McDonagh & Axiom began the match locking up before McDonagh hit a running tackle. The two exchanged fast holds before McDonagh got Axiom in a head scissors, but Axiom reversed it and locked in a double-arm lock on McDonagh. Axiom got JD in a backslide before getting an O’Connor Roll for near fall. Axiom went for a kick on JD, but JD sat down to evade the kick. McDonagh tripped Axiom for a near fall before the two went for a Greko Roman Lock. Axiom leaped over McDonagh, but McDonagh got a Surfboard hold for a pin for a near fall. Axiom pulled himself and hit an arm drag before kicking JD in the head to send McDonagh out of the ring ahead of the commercial break. Back from. the break, McDonagh targeted Axiom’s left knee and went for a knee slam, but Axiom reversed it mid-air with a dropkick. Axiom hit an overhead chop, elbow strikes, and a running dropkick on McDonagh before hitting a Triangle Moonsault to the outside on McDonagh. JD & Axiom got back in the ring at the count of nine, with McDonagh immediately kicking Axiom right on his left leg before connecting. chop block on the left leg. McDonagh went for another Chop Block, but Axiom leaped and hit a springboard into sleeper choke on McDonagh, but McDonagh got a rope break. McDonagh got Axiom in a Boston Crab before Axiom slapped the bottom rope for the rope break. McDonagh & Axiom exchanged vicious forearm strikes before Axiom did a kip-up, but Axiom stalled on his left leg before McDonagh hit vicious headbutt on Axiom. McDonagh went for a Moonsault off the top rope, ut Axiom caught him with a Triangle Choke before transitioning into a Hurricanrana for a near fall, to which Axiom responded with a vicious chest kick on McDonagh for a near fall. McDonagh went for Devlin Inside, but Axiom reversed it into a Sleeper hold before transitioning into an arm bar. McDonagh rolled over and ranked Axiom’s left leg, which the referee immediately checked on Axiom for a possible injury. Axiom was checked on by medical officials after not being able to stand up on his left leg, leading to McDonagh getting the win via a referee stoppage. 

Winner: JD McDonagh.

– JD McDonagh cut a promo in the ring after the match, saying that he is sending a message and implored someone from the back to get on his level, specifically targeting Apollo Crews.

– There was a video package recapping Brutus Creed & Damon Kemp’s feud ahead of their match. 

5-Minute Challenge.

Damon Kemp vs. Brutus Creed (w/ Julius Creed).

Brutus attacked Kemp before the match officially began. Brutus laid in the strikes on Kemp before hitting  Nrthern Lights Suplex on Kemp followed by a shoulder tackle on Kemp to the outside. Brutus tossed Kemp onto the stairs. Kemp kicked Brutus in the head, but Brutus slammed Kemp onto the ringside floor. Back in the ring, Kemp kicked Brutus in the left leg and launched him into the corner. Kemp went to the outside and got a chair from the outside. Kemp swong at Brutus, but Brutus smacked the chair off him before hitting two leaping cannoballs on Kemp. Brutus teased attacking Kemp with the chair before shrugging and attacking Kemp with the chair, awarding Kemp the win. Brutus shouted at Kemp and told him he was more of a man than him before laying in another chair shot at Kemp’s back. Kemp got the win, but Brutus got his revenge by brutalizing Kemp. Sanga & Veer Mahan stared down The Creed Brothers from the Raven’s Next. 

Winner (via Disqualification): Damon Kemp.

– There was a vignette of someone speaking, saying that those that get on the person’s way will get his form of justice, teasing the return of T-Barr to NXT.

– Roxanne Perez tried to talk to Indi Hartwell backstage, but Hartwell disregarded Perez and told her that she cannot have friends in this business. Perez looked bamboozled by this situation in her first NXT appearance since Halloween Havoc. 

NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match.

Katana Chance & Kayden Carter (c) vs. Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark.

Chance & Stark began the match locking up before Lyons tagged in and got a wrist lock lift on Chance, with Stark hitting a double ax handle on Chance. Chance went for a Monkey Flip on Stark, but Stark landed on her feet. Chance hit double Tijeras on Stark before connecting a cartwheel double knee on Stark for a near fall. Stark hit a dropkick and a running lariat on Carter for a near fall. Lyons tagged in and rolled to slam Carter to the mat before locking in a wrist lock on Carter. Lyons and Stark hit double body slams on Chance & Carter. Chance sent Stark out of the ring before Carter hit a shotgun dropkick on Lyons. Carter & Chance hit an assisted cross body on Lyons to the outside before Chance hit a Hurricanrana on Stark on the ringside floor. Back in the ring, Cater slammed Lyons into the corner before Chance hit a side body press on the corner to allow Carter to hit drop kick on Lyons. Stark tagged in and got a chin lock on Chance. Chance broke the hold, but Stark slid to make Chance fall on his face before locking in a Brock Lock on Chance, but Chance reversed it with a Sunset Flip for a near fall. Chance ducked Stark to tag in Carter. Carter hit a Victory Roll Thrust Kick followed by a running boot on Stark. Carter hit a Rope walk cross-body on Stark to the outside before Chance hit a springboard Tornillo to the outside on Lyons. Carter & Chance hit an Assisted Elevated Flatliner on Stark for a near fall. Stark hit a suplex on Chance before tagging Lyons. Lyons tossed Chance to the corner and Chance went for a cross body, but Lyons caught her and tossed Chance across the ring. Stark hit a Half-and-half suplex and a spinning kick to the back on Chance’s neck for a near fall. As Carter hit a Shotgun Dropkick on Lyons to the outside, Chance evaded Stark’s attempt of a Phoenix Splash to hit a Stundog Millionaire on Stark, but Lyons broke the pin. Stark nearly attacked Lyons, which allowed Chance & Carter to hit a Double Thrust Kick. Chance hit a Tornado DDT on Stark before Chance &Carter hit a neck breaker/ 450 Splash combination on Stark for the pinfall win and title retention.

Winners & Still NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions: Kayden Carter & Katana Chance. 

– After the match, Stark attacked Lyons by hitting Lyons with one of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Stark hit a sliding kick on Lyons’ face. As the crowd chanted “Oh Zoey is Angry” after her heinous antics, Stark stood over Lyons to end the broadcast.
