In October, Haley Cavinder announced that she would return to basketball for one last season. The WWE NIL talent previously helped lead the Miami Hurricanes to the Elite Eight in the 2022-23 season, and she earned second team All-ACC honors. Haley and her sister Hanna had decided to forgo their fifth year of eligibility, but Haley wanted to return.
On November 13, Haley took to Twitter/X to announce that he has committed to TCU, and she will play there next season.

In an interview with Business of College Sports (via Forbes), which was recorded prior to her decision, Hanna and Haley discussed the situation, with Hanna noting that she led the decision to forgo their fifth year.
“I think going into deciding whether we were going to take our fifth year or not, we kind of were leaning on each other. We’ve always done everything together, so it kind of just made sense. I was just kind of ready to tie the shoes up, and I had different ambitions outside of basketball, but that was kind of my decision to step away,” Hanna said.
On the other hand, Haley stated that she felt a lot of pressure in the aftermath of the move, and she knew she would regret it if she didn’t come back.
“I think ending it with Hanna and announcing that we were done and not going to take our fifth year, I felt—honestly, to be very transparent—a lot of pressure. There was nothing filling the love for the game, and I just truly was like, I know I’m going to regret it down the road if I don’t go back,” Haley said.
The article noted that Haley will play, and Hanna will not be with her on the team.
The in-ring futures of Hanna and Haley Cavinder are unclear. The sisters signed WWE NIL deals in 2021, and they made their WWE television debut on the June 6, 2023, episode of WWE NXT. They attended the July 21 episode of WWE SmackDown.
