WWE NIL Signee AJ Ferrari Facing Felony Charge Of Sexual Battery
WWE NIL signee arrested.
The Oklahoman reports that WWE NIL signee AJ Ferrari has been charged with one felony count of sexual battery. A warrant was issued for his arrest on August 3. Bond was set at $25,000.
Ferrari was accused of sexual assault by a woman who filed and received an emergency protective order on July 5. A hearing is scheduled for September 15.
“The Ferrari Family is disappointed by the State’s decision to file this charge,” Ferrari’s attorney, Derek Chance, told The Oklahoman in an emailed statement. “We remain confident that through the legal process, A.J. Jr. will be exonerated, as he is innocent and the facts will no doubt prove it.”
Oklahoma State dismissed him from the wrestling team on July 13. Ferrari was 30-1 in his career at Oklahoma State, going 20-1 and winning a national championship at 197 pounds in his true freshman season. He was 10-0 as a sophomore before a car accident ended his season. He suffered internal damage to his shoulder as a result of the accident.
Ferrari was announced as part of the Inaugural NIL Class in December 2021.
WWE has yet to comment on Ferrari’s status in the NIL program.
