WWE Main Event Report For 3/6/20: Akira Tozawa vs. Eric Young & Shelton Benjamin In Action



Shelton Benjamin vs. Curt Hawkins w/Zack Ryder

The match begins with Benjamin nailing Hawkins with a bunch of strikes and stomps, Benjamin corners Hawkins before arguing with Ryder. Hawkins fights back and he nails Benjamin with a few arm drags, Benjamin leaves the ring and he argues with Ryder again. Hawkins chases Benjamin back into the ring and Benjamin attacks him before throwing him shoulder first into the ring post, Benjamin then nails Hawkins with a neck breaker for a near fall. Benjamin then nails Hawkins with a divorce court before applying a key lock, Hawkins fights back and Benjamin nails him with a spin kick to the head for a near fall. Benjamin keeps Hawkins down while wrenching away on the injured arm, Hawkins fights back again and he nails Benjamin with a clothesline. Hawkins then cracks Benjamin with a few strikes and a drop kick, Hawkins also nails Benjamin with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Benjamin fights back and Hawkins nails him with an overhead kick for a near fall, Hawkins goes to the top rope and Benjamin causes him to leap off.

Benjamin then nails Hawkins with a knee strike, Benjamin applies an arm bar to a downed Hawkins and a tap out follows.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Akira Tozawa vs. Eric Young

The match begins with Young immediately dropping and stomping away on Tozawa, Young also wrenches away on the arm of Tozawa before stomping away on him again. Young corners Tozawa before attacking him with multiple chops, Tozawa fights back and he knocks Young out of the ring after landing a spinning head kick. Tozawa misses a penalty kick from the ring apron and Young nails him with a chop block, Young then hits Tozawa with a neck breaker on the arena floor. Young follows up on that by nailing Tozawa with an elbow drop from the ring apron, Young gets Tozawa back in the ring before getting a near fall on a pin attempt. Young corners Tozawa again while landing some more strikes, Young then nails Tozawa with a neck breaker for a near fall. Young gets Tozawa back to the ring apron before landing an elevated neck breaker to the arena floor as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Young stomping away on a cornered Tozawa.

Tozawa fights back and Young drops him with a back elbow strike for a near fall, Young then nails Tozawa with another neck breaker for another near fall. Young keeps Tozawa down while applying a chin lock to him, Tozawa gets free and he cracks Young with a kick to the face. Young fights back and Tozawa knocks him out of the ring with a hurricarana, Tozawa follows up by nailing Young with a suicide dive. Tozawa gets Young back in the ring before landing a head kick and missile drop kick for a near fall, Tozawa gets Young onto the top rope and he follows him up there. Young knocks Tozawa off the ropes before landing a top rope elbow drop for a near fall, Tozawa recovers and he catches Young in an octopus stretch. Young gets free before eating a super kick from Tozawa, Tozawa goes to the top rope and Young meets him up there. Tozawa knocks Young off the ropes before landing a senton bomb for a three count.
