WWE Has Interest In Signing Ben Carter
Ben Carter is a very hot commodity in the world of professional wrestling.
Ben Carter has made quite the impression of late. He had a breakout performance against Lee Johnson on AEW Dark, and then appeared on Late Night Dynamite against Scorprio Sky. Before those matches, however, he filmed a match with IMPACT Wrestling that ran this week. He’s had looks and interest from both companies, but Fightful has learned that NXT UK has made a major play to land Ben Carter in recent weeks.
Carter, who is a graduate of Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Wrestling Academy, was very open with Fightful in a recent interview where he noted that his residential status affected him in ROH, and kept him from getting paid. The NXT UK deal would circumvent that and keep him closer to home. The last we’d heard from the WWE side of things was that a deal had not been reached as of yet.
On a recent Twitch stream, Miro aka Rusev in WWE, seemed to suggest that AEW had lost the bidding war for Carter, claiming that the highly sought-after rookie had gone “to the dark side.”
“We lost Ben Carter. Ben Carter is lost, he’s gone to the dark side, so… I mean, good luck to Ben Carter, all the best to him, I was really impressed with his stuff,” said Miro.
Miro seems to spoil on his latest Twitch stream that Ben Carter has joined WWE.
