WWE Edits Britt Baker Out Of NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2019 Replay
AEW’s Britt Baker became a meme in 2019 after WWE production staff cut to her shocked reaction when Tommaso Ciampa dropped Adam Cole, Baker’s real-life boyfriend, from the top of the WarGames cage through a table.
WWE has edited that camera cut out of replays of the match, instead of holding the camera shot on the carnage inside of the cage for a few moments longer.

Triple H explained to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp on a media call last year that it was a simple mistake because production was just trying to go to the best fan reaction they could and when that camera cut was made, it was originally not known that the person they were showing was Adam Cole’s girlfriend from a rival promotion.
Baker would later address the moment on Chris Jericho’s podcast. Appearing on Talk is Jericho back in April, she recalled not wanting to be backstage during WarGames because she knew the competitors would be taking crazy bumps and wanted to watch from the crowd.
“I didn’t want to sit backstage because they were doing crazy cage match bumps so I was like, ‘Is there any way I can watch in the crowd?’ They said, ‘Yup, absolutely.’ I’m in my seat, everything is good. For his match, they moved me behind the commentary table and because the match was in the cage, the camera wouldn’t come out there. To me, that made sense. It wasn’t until the very end, he took this disgusting bump off the top of the cage. I don’t even know which camera it was because I was looking in the ring. I didn’t know until I went backstage and Triple H came up to me and was like, ‘I’m so sorry, we didn’t mean for that to happen. We got you on camera and your reaction to the bump. They didn’t know who you were.’ Do I believe that? I don’t know. But he was very apologetic, super nice, him and Stephanie both. Tony didn’t care at all because, after that night, I was the top Google search of the entire show.”
At the very least, the moment will forever live on through the various memes that were created in the subsequent months.
