WWE Developmental Wrestler Arrested And Suspended
A former MMA fighter turned NXT talent has been suspended.
The Eagle-Tribune reports that WWE developmental talent Terrance Jean-Jacques was arrested Sunday and arraigned today on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, witness intimidation, destruction of property and threatening to commit a crime.
Jillian Gilman The girlfriend of the 24-year old wrestler alleges that he struck her. The judge ordered that Jean-Jacques be held without bail pending a hearing to determine his level of danger. Jean-Jacques was jailed in a local facility and was said to be emotional as he was represented by a public defender.
Jean-Jacques' parents requested that the judge release him to their care, and noted that he was set to undergo surgery this week. The judge, Stephen Albany, denied the request.
Jean-Jacques was a collegiate wrestler at the University of Iowa and Rhode Island College. He competed in one MMA fight in 2013, and had a half-dozen canceled over the next two years before signing with WWE in April.
When Fightful.com contacted WWE for a statement, the company said. "We have zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Terrance Jean-Jacques has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."
