Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Stone Cold Steve Austin, who revealed recently that Chris Jericho will be on the Broken Skull Sessions series on WWE Network on WrestleMania Sunday, praised Chris Jericho’s longevity and influence in the wrestling industry.

“Jericho’s one of the most influential wrestlers over the last 30 years and he’s still going strong,” Austin says. “The guy has gotten over in every territory he’s ever been in. Chris has always been able to reinvent himself and do something new and fresh.

“He’s a worker’s worker and a student of the game. Think about all the holy s— moments he’s had in his matches, or how he can light up a place on the microphone. Chris is one of the biggest personalities in the world, he’s the real deal.”

– During a media scrum to promote NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, Triple H revealed that the Wednesday night version of TakeOver, which will be simulcast on USA Network and Peacock, will be commercial-free on the latter platform.

– Andrade, who recently left WWE, is excited about new beginnings.

– Speaking of new beginnings for Andrade, as noted in the latest Wrestling Observer, Ring of Honor Champion, RUSH recently noted that he will be starting his own promotion. This gives Andrade another option when considering his future.

– Ring of Honor is set to premiere their 500 television episode and a special for their Best On The Planet streaming service.

ROH TO PREMIERE 500TH EPISODE AND TWO-HOUR SPECIAL ON BEST ON THE PLANET

Ring of Honor celebrates the 500th episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling” with a three-hour block of programming airing FREE on ROH Best On The Planet on Thursday, April 15, culminating with the exclusive premiere of the landmark episode.

ROH presents the 500th Episode Special from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, featuring 10 of the greatest matches in the show’s history, including: World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. Kings of Wrestling (the main event of Episode 1 in 2011); ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe vs. Matt Hardy; Steel Cage Warfare: ROH vs. S.C.U.M.; The Young Bucks vs. reDRagon vs. The Kingdom in a Street Fight; as well as matches featuring AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Cody.

At 8 p.m., fans can watch the 500th episode before it airs elsewhere over the weekend. The show features two marquee matches, including ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham defending against fellow Foundation member Jay Lethal in a dream match fans in ROH The Experience Facebook group said they wanted to see.

The main event for Episode 500 will be announced on Saturday at 11 a.m. on YouTube.

Best On The Planet is ROH’s FREE 24/7 streaming channel on the Live TV section of the STIRR and PLEX apps, which are available in all major app stores.

Also on April 15, ROH will host an Episode 500 watch party at 8 p.m. Eastern on Zoom exclusively for HonorClub members, and there will be a pre-show on YouTube at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.

– Speaking on UnSKripted with Dr. Chris Featherstone, John Cena senior revealed that his son is not his favorite wrestler and instead named some of his son’s greatest eivals as names that come to mind.

“First of all who says my son’s my favorite wrestler? I have quite a few favorite wrestlers. Edge comes to mind. Randy Orton comes to mind. When I was younger and I had the opportunity to meet him several times, Bruno Sammartino was truly one of the greats. Chief Jay Strongbow, another great that I had the opportunity to at least see in action and do an autograph signing with.Those are the people that made wrestling real. I guess that’s where we’re at. Ric Flair is another one that I admire. I did several shows with Ric. An outstanding human being. I think if Ric didn’t have the health problems that he had, I think you would see him back in the ring today.”
