WWE Clash At The Castle 2022 Generated £21.8m For Welsh Economy

WWE Clash at the Castle brought in big money for the Welsh economy.

The Welsh government (via BBC) revealed that WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 generated £21.8m for the Welsh economy. That’s roughly $27.12 million in America. 

WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 took place September 3, 2022 from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The event drew an announced attendance of 62,296. 

Nigel Walker, Welsh Rugby Union interim CEO, said Cardiff “stepped up to the challenge. Clash at the Castle had a global audience of millions, and with all eyes on Principality Stadium, we showcased what a magnificent venue we have here in Cardiff.”

Wales’ economy minister Vaughan Gething said, “In addition to the direct economic impact the event delivered here in Wales, it provided us with a huge boost to our profile internationally. This included opportunities to showcase Wales’ vibrant language and culture through bespoke content creation shared globally on WWE’s social media channels.”

WWE Clash at the Castle was headlined by Drew McIntyre challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
