Willow Nightingale Wants To Go From ‘Just Being Dependable’ To Being That Person In AEW/ROH
Willow Nightingale wants to level up in AEW/ROH.
2023 has already been a very successful year for ‘The Babe With Power’, as she held the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship for 45 days. Furthermore, Nightingale also won the 2023 Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament and got to main event the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view with Athena.
As it currently stands, Nightingale is not set to compete on Dynamite: Grand Slam or Rampage: Grand Slam this week. Many fans are disappointed by this, as Nightingale is from Long Island, New York.
In a new interview with WrestleZone, Willow Nightingale said that she wants to level up and become the wrestler that fans will be clamoring for to be in the main event picture.
“Ultimately I think where I’m at, I want to be viewed as a legitimate contender for the championship, right? I’ve proven that I can win championships, being the inaugural New Japan STRONG Women’s Champion and then winning the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. I’ve proven myself in the regards that I can pull the trigger on something like this and walk out as a star. So, now it’s just finding my way into positions like that, hopefully where the opportunities are, I can cash in or capitalize on. I’ve already had a title match this year at Forbidden Door, so the only thing to do is to keep that up. I want to be a person who people see and are asking, ‘Why isn’t she in the main event picture for the women.’ That’s ultimately the question I ask myself when I say what aren’t I doing, what do I need to do in terms of the growth and not getting stagnant, but staying consistently dependable. It’s like how do I go from just being dependable to being that person. I want people to see me that way, and I want to see me that way, especially for big shows like Grand Slam. Of course I want to show out in front of my home audience, yeah.”
