Willow Nightingale: Mercedes Mone Would Be A Great Fit In AEW, There Is No Denying Her Star Power

Willow Nightingale would welcome Mercedes Mone to AEW.

Willow Nightingale became the first-ever NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion at NJPW STRONG Resurgence when she defeated Mercedes Mone. The finish of the bout was reportedly changed as Mone suffered an ankle injury during the match.

It is unknown if Mercedes would have been part of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door had she won the title. Willow faced AEW Champion Toni Storm at the event.

Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Willow was asked about the possibility of Mercedes joining AEW.

“If that is what she would want to do and she would want to be part of our team, I would love it. I think she’s undoubtedly an amazing performer. One of the pivotal people in creating women’s wrestling to be in the space that it is today. There is no denying just how prolific she is and the star power she brings. She would be a great fit for our team. The world is her oyster. She’s really proved that going out on her own and finding so much success in New Japan. I do wish her well, I hope she’s healing up good. Whatever she wants to do, she’s got it,” said Willow.

It is unknown when Mercedes will return to the ring.

Willow ended up losing the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title to Giulia at NJPW STRONG Independence Day Two. Giulia came to the United States for IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2 and says she plans to return.
