Willie Mack Shares Who He’d Like To Face From NJPW And AEW

Willie Mack talks about potential crossover matches.

Joining The Wrestling Perspective Podcast, the IMPACT star spoke about a number of topics, including which wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling and AEW he would like to face. The three companies have been collaborating ever since Don Callis helped Kenny Omega win the AEW World Championship on the December 2, 2020, episode of Dynamite. Most recently, NJPW’s Juice Robinson and David Finlay appeared in the IMPACT Zone, defeating Reno Scum (Adam Thornstowe & Luster the Legend) and agreeing to have drinks with The Good Brothers.

According to Mack, there are a lot of people he’d like to wrestle, but two, in particular, came to mind.

“Hell yes, there’s a bunch of people I’d like to wrestle. Shingo [Takagi] because Shingo was a match that I wanted when I went over to Dragon Gate but I didn’t know that was his last time in Dragon Gate before he went to New Japan. So hopefully we can run that match because I only wrestled him in like a multi-man tag match. In AEW there’s a few people. I’d like to work with [Brian] Cage again. Take that back. Eddie Kingston. I’ve yet to wrestle that dude and I’ve known him for so many years. I’m like, ‘Eddie when we going to have a match?’ [Immitating Kingston] ‘Man I know, you need to tell these promoters something.’ I’m like, ‘I ain’t got no pull fool. You’ve been in the business longer than me, you should say something, they’ll listen to you.'”

Up next, Mack is set for six-man tag team action on the February 23 edition of IMPACT Wrestling. He will join forces with Trey Miguel and Josh Alexander against Chris Bey, Ace Austin, and Black Taurus. The winning team will meet in a triple threat match on March 2nd, with the victor earning a shot at TJP and the X-Division Championship.
