The Swords of Essex are returning to PROGRESS and TNT Extreme Wrestling.
PROGRESS announced that Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson, collectively known as the Swords of Essex, are coming back to PROGRESS and TNT Extreme Wrestling following a “comprehensive investigation.” The announcement noted that the duo, and the individual competitors, will be welcomed back to both promotions.
From PROGRESS:
Will Ospreay and Paul Robinson, also known as the Swords of Essex, will be returning to PROGRESS Wrestling and TNT Extreme Wrestling.
After a comprehensive investigation in which both talent complied with all requests and after taking on board all feedback internally, both TNT Extreme Wrestling and PROGRESS Wrestling now look forward to welcoming back both talent as a team or as individuals to each respective promotion.
Ospreay and Robinson have both been involved in controversies; PROGRESS announced that they parted ways with Robinson in 2021, and he had previously been named in the #SpeakingOut movement. At the time, Robinson posted a statement in response to the allegations.
Ospreay has not wrestled for PROGRESS since 2019. Previous allegations claimed that Ospreay was at least partially responsible for blacklisting Pollyanna from wrestling, and he denied these allegations. PROGRESS also apologized to Pollyanna for failing her as a company.
Ospreay commented on the news in a tweet; he stated that he was happy he could put aside any issues with PROGRESS, and he thanked everyone involved for their support. Ospreay then expressed his excitement ahead of his return to PROGRESS and TNT Extreme Wrestling.
After all the years we’ve been away, I’m so happy I can put aside any of the issues with PROGRESS & thanks to Lee, Martyn, Jay & all the Roster & Staff for their support in bringing us back.
I cannot wait for myself & Paul Robinson to return to TNT & PROGRESS
