Will Hobbs Recalls Wearing A Gas Mask Alongside Jon Moxley In WWE
Before Will Hobbs and Jon Moxley were paired up on AEW for a brief period, they were side-by-side in WWE.
Hobbs did extra work in WWE before he was signed to AEW and was part of an infamous Moxley (Dean Ambrose in WWE) angle that was the beginning of the end of his WWE tenure.
“When I saved Mox that night when Ricky and Cage were going at him. Before that, Mox pulled me aside and was like, ‘I got some good stuff planned for you. It’s cool to work with you,'” Hobbs recalled to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions. “I did some extra work for him in WWE before. Remember when he had the entourage come out with the gas masks? We were talking about how hard it was to breathe. It was cool that he remembered me. He didn’t remember my name but he was like, ‘Don’t I know you from somewhere?’ I told him and it clicked. Mox is good people.”
Hobbs turned on Moxley in November 2020 on AEW Dynamite, aligning himself with Team Taz.
Along with crediting Moxley for being easy to talk to and helping him in AEW, Hobbs also mentioned Shawn Dean and Lee Johnson as two of his best friends in the company and said FTR, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Dustin Rhodes, and Jim Ross are very helpful.
Elsewhere during the interview, Hobbs recalled cutting an emotional promo at the WWE Performance Center. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
