Wes Lee: Great American Bash Wasn’t My Favorite PPV, I Was More Of A Bash At The Beach Guy
Wes Lee wasn’t a Great American Bash guy.
NXT has utilized the history of wrestling pay-per-view events by naming their own premium live events after historic events.
Great American Bash was originally used in 1985 by WCW and has since been picked up by NXT. NXT will present its latest Great American Bash offering on Sunday, July 30.
Speaking to the Black Rasslin’ Podcast, Wes Lee was asked for his favorite Great American Bash memories.
“Great American Bash, I’ll be honest, it wasn’t one of my favorite pay-per-views growing up, it really wasn’t. I was a Bash at the Beach, Halloween Havoc (guy). It took some time for me to get back on the history on that. I don’t really have core memories of the Great American Bash. I have my own history at the Great American Bash and those are my personal memories,” he said.
Lee teamed with Nash Carter (Zachary Wentz) at Great American Bash 2021 to successfully defend the NXT Tag Team Titles against Timothy Thatcher & Tommaso Ciampa. He lost to Trick Williams at Great American Bash 2021.
Lee will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Title in a triple threat bout that also features Mustafa Ali at Great American Bash 2023. Fans can check up the full lineup by clicking here.
