Here’s your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on June 20, 2023.

– Von Wagner opened up to Mr. Stone and opened up about the baby picture Stone had been asking him. He revealed that he dealt with health issues when he was a baby, as he had extensive surgery. Wagner described how kids bullied him for his scars.

– Cora Jade defeated Dana Brooke. Brooke seemingly injured her knee, and a stretcher was brought out for her. She tried to fight through it, but Jade scored the submission win.

– Duke Hudson and Chase U held a pep rally for Thea Hail. Hail looked ahead to her title match against Tiffany Stratton, and she also reflected on her journey up to this point. Hail gave a shout-out to Andre Chase, who she said was at home. Hail also gave Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak credit for teaching her about grappling. NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton interrupted and told Hail she didn’t have a chance. Hudson hyped up Hail and said he believes in her. Hail took Stratton down and locked her in a Kimura.

– Wes Lee defended the NXT North American Championship against Tyler Bate, and Mustafa Ali was the special referee. Both Lee and Bate took issue with Ali’s officiating early on. They battled it out in a hard-fought bout. Lee scored the win with the Cardiac Kick. Ali got involved at the end of the match and somewhat distracted Bate right before Ali hit his finisher.

Seth Rollins defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker. Finn Balor attacked Rollins after the bell, but Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams made the save.

– NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin came face to face ahead of their title match the following week. Corbin highlighted his successful run on the main roster. Hayes fired back by bringing up Corbin getting cut by the Arizona Cardinals. Hayes credited Corbin and the other NXT originals for setting the bar high, but he made it clear that he was determined to keep lifting it. They kept trading shots, and tensions couldn’t be higher as the exchange came to a close.

Eddy Thorpe and Damon Kemp agreed to face off in a Raw Underground match. Later in the show, Thorpe studied some footage of Raw Underground. Gable Steveson approached him and offered to help him train for the match.

– Seth Rollins caught up with Nathan Frazer and told him he’s proud of him. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes approached Rollins and paid his respects.

– Edris Enofe and Malik Blade defeated Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger to earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship.

– Roxanne Perez attacked Blair Davenport backstage.

– Jagger Reid told Joe Gacy that his misfortunes were affecting the group. Gacy said he would reflect, but they needed to recover. Ava made it clear that they needed to stick together. Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, and Ivy Nile) regrouped after their loss to the Schism (Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid, Rip Fowler, and Ava Raine). Julius Creed said that he would send them packing if they didn’t want to be there.

– A vignette highlighted Gigi Dolin and her creativity. Kiana James then commented on Dolin in an interview and claimed that Gigi was swimming in a pool of mediocrity. 

– NXT Anonymous showed a clip of Lyra Valkyria confronting Jacy Jayne.

– Nathan Frazer offered to give Dragon Lee a shot at the NXT Heritage Cup.

– Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz faced Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend. Oro Mensah interfered and helped Legend and Jackson win. 

– Joe Coffey was attacked by Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in the parking lot. 

– Nathan Frazer shared a throwback picture of himself and commented on his interaction with Seth Rollins.

– Mustafa Ali noted that he thought he did a fine job officiating.

– Dijak took a shot at Mustafa Ali’s officiating.

– In a Digital Exclusive, Malik Blade and Edris Enofe commented on earning a shot at the tag team titles.

– Mustafa Ali defended his officiating in a Digital Exclusive.

Seth Rollins addressed the fans after NXT went off the air.
