Vince McMahon: We Have A Family. Not The McMahon Family. A Much Broader Family. I’m The Patriarch
Vince McMahon believes WWE is family.
Throughout the years, many who have worked for WWE has described Vince McMahon as a “father figure.”
“You hear people say this a lot in our business about Vince; ‘He was almost like a father to me,'” said Triple H on “Mr. McMahon.”
Vince himself viewed things similarly.
“We have a family. Not the McMahon family. We have a much broader family. In terms of a family-type thing, I’m the patriarch,” Vince said.
Undertaker commented, “He’s had the role of a father figure in my life. I’d honestly take a bullet for that man.”
Trish Stratus said, “Our relationship, he was like a father figure to me.”
John Cena noted, “I have a fatherly, a father-son relationship with Vince.”
All interviews were recorded in 2021, before allegations of hush money, sexual misconduct, sex trafficking, and sexual assault were brought against McMahon.
All six episodes of “Mr. McMahon” are now streaming on Netflix.
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. On May 30, Grant agreed to pause the lawsuit for six months while the federal investigation continued against McMahon, who resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.
