Vickie Guerrero Says She Knew She Was Taking A Bump When Vince McMahon Would Ask To Speak With Her
Vickie always knew when something bad was going to happen to her on WWE TV.
Vickie Guerrero has been involved in the wrestling business for the majority of her life because of her husband, the late-great WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero. When Eddie passed away, Vickie stuck around the WWE and wore numerous hats as she was a manager for ‘LayCool’, Dolph Ziggler, Edge and was the General Manager of both RAW and SmackDown. With those managerial positions comes a physical price no matter who is in the position and it was the same for Vickie Guerrero.
When Vickie joined the ‘Prime Time With Sean Mooney’ podcast, she reflected on the moments where she got physical in the ring. For example, taking a “Tombstone” from The Undertaker or having Rey Mysterio hit the “West Coast Pop” onto her while she was sitting in a wheelchair and while talking about those things, Vickie added that she always knew when something was happening to her on WWE TV because she would be approached by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
“I was the only female and I’m very honored for that title. They did [the guys took care of her]. The Undertaker, Mark was so wonderful and I was scared to death – we were in Tampa and I was so scared of what I was gonna go through with him, but he didn’t even have rehearsal with me on it. He’s like, ‘I’m not even gonna go through this with you. I’m gonna tell you what it’s going to be feel like. I’m gonna give you the signal when I’m going down, and you just hold on. I got you’, and I was… I was petrified but after it was over, I laid there and I went backstage and I’m like, ‘I wanna do this again.’ Taker just talked to me, told me where I needed to be and he was such a professional and just… he’s another great guy that I was honored to work with and when Rey Mysterio did the West Coast Pop off the top rope and I was in a wheelchair, that was a little… I thought, ‘Maybe, now I need to start thinking about what they’re having me do here’.” Vickie continued, “Yes, yes [She was supposed to fall out of the chair after the “West Coast Pop”]. They’re like, ‘As long as you don’t land on your neck, we’re good for the night’ and I’m like what? Yeah, and I always knew something bad was gonna happen to me because we’d be around the ring during the day, and whenever Vince would come out he’s like, ‘Guerrero, can I have a moment with you?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. Something is gonna happen tonight.’”
Speaking of the Chairman, Vince McMahon will be making an appearance on tomorrow’s WWE RAW to “shake things up”.
