Velveteen Dream Defeats Johnny Gargano To Win NXT North American Title
Velveteen Dream is your new NXT North American Champion.
On tonight’s episode of NXT, The Velveteen Dream defeated Johnny Gargano to win the NXT North American Championship. This marks the first time Dream has tasted gold in NXT. Dream earned his title shot by winning the Worlds Collide Tournament.
Coming off two big tag team victories on Raw and SmackDown, Gargano was unable to keep the momentum going, falling victim to back-to-back Dream Valley Drivers and the Purple Rainmaker. Prior to the bout, Tommaso Ciampa offered his services to Gargano, who declined. After the bout, the camera cut backstage to a smirking Ciampa.
