UPDATE: Kofi Kingston’s Injury Not Serious, Working Live Events On Asian Tour

UPDATE: Kofi's fine.

He's been working the Live Events on the tour, both in Osaka, Japan and Shenzen, China, so it looks like the SmackDown Tag Champs have dodged another bullet.

ORIGINAL POST:

Xavier Woods narrowly escaped a serious injury last month when he landed wrong on a jumping DDT attempt in a triple threat match between The New Day, The Usos and Breezango at a Live Event in Texarkana, Arkansas. He's been out with a sprained MCL since late August, and thanks to the Freebird Rule, his teammates Big E and Kofi Kingston have been able to continue without him, even managing to take back the SmackDown Tag Team Titles this past Tuesday night on SmackDown.

But Woods might be pressed back into action sooner than he thought, as Kofi Kingston appeared to tweak his knee going for a crossbody in the New Day's match at the Honolulu Live Event last night. The team was facing the unlikely duo of Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin–rivals for several months in the spring and summer of 2016–and they were able to get to the finish of the match with Kofi limping through the motions. According to reports by fans in attendance, Kofi was helped to the back by training staff.

This could be quite a comedown from the celebration in Las Vegas, where Kofi twerked while wearing his Title belt on the famous Vegas Strip. We will keep you informed of all the latest.
