ROH PURE Title Tournament First Round Match

Jay Lethal vs Dalton Castle

They shake hands before the match, adhering to the Code of Honor before the match starts and Jay goes for a takedown that Dalton stuffs. Dalton takes Jay down before they roll into the ropes for a clean break, the first of three for Jay as you are only allowed three per match in the tournament. They grapple more before Jay locks in a submission and Dalton counters into a pin attempt for two. Dalton then ducks a lariat by Lethal and hits a Saito suplex before following up with a belly to belly suplex in the corner as we go to commercial.

We come back to Jay having Dalton on the mat and focusing on his knee before hitting a back breaker. Jay stays on the knee of Dalton before Dalton goes for a Bang-A-Rang that Jay counters into a Lethal Combination for a near fall. Jay hits a scoop slam before going up top for Hail to the King, but Dalton meets him before Jay counters a superplex attempt. Dalton then hits the Bang-A-Rang for a near fall before Jay counters a Tiger driver into a lariat and the Lethal Injection for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jay Lethal defeats Dalton Castle via pinfall to advance to the next round of the tournament.

– We get extended video packages for Jonathan Gresham and ROH newcomer Wheeler Yuta ahead of their tournament match up next.

ROH PURE Title Tournament First Round Match

Jonathan Gresham vs Wheeler Yuta

The two start the match off by countering everything the other does before Wheeler takes Jon down to the mat and locks in a body scissors. Jon struggles to get free before countering into a heel hook which Yuta gets out of before dropkicking Jon. Yuta boots Jon and goes up top, but misses a diving cross body before Jon starts focusing on his ankle. Jon locks in an Indian death lock before Yuta gets to the ropes for the break and Jon holds on until the count of five. The referee gives both competitors a warning after Yuta punches Jon in the face out of anger that he didn’t break the hold.

Yuta gets two off of a diving cross body before Jon locks in a figure four and Yuta the two of them out of the ring with the submission still in. They get back in at sixteen before exchanging pin attempts for a series of near falls before Jon stomps the ankle of Yuta. Jon then slams the knee cap of Yuta repeatedly into the mat before he is forced to tap for the win.

Winner: Jonathan Gresham defeats Wheeler Yuta via submission to advance to the next round of the tournament.
