Tyson Fury Says He Was Suppossed To Be At WrestleMania 36, Wants To Knockout Drew McIntyre

Tyson Fury is undefeated in WWE with a victory over the current Universal Champion Braun Strowman. And should he return to a WWE ring, Fury has his sights set on the current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

Appearing on Sport’s Breakfast on TalkSPORT, Fury weighed in on McIntyre’s WWE Title victory at WrestleMania 36 and noted that he was supposed to be at the event before the pandemic struck.

“I was supposed to be at WrestleMania 36, but obviously with the coronavirus I couldn’t be there. I probably would have jumped in the ring and set about both of them. But you know I’m all open for the challenge. I beat one giant wrestler who’s bigger than Drew, Braun Strowman, knocked him clean out, I’m sure I’d do the same to our old Drew. But I’m over ecstatic for him because it’s the first ever time in history that a British fighter has won the WWE Championship,” said Fury.

Earlier in the day, McIntyre was on the show and called out Fury before his appearance.

“I know Tyson Fury is on the show today, as well. I need to bring up Fury because he was talking trash about me, so I know he’s coming on the show. Tell him ‘I saw what you said about me.’ He didn’t care who won the match [between Lesnar and I], he thought I was going to win and thinks he can smash me. Just let him know ‘Fury I’ve won the championship, now I’m paying attention to you’. After I beat [Chris] Sutton, I’m coming for Fury,” he said.

It is unknown in what capacity Fury would have been used at WrestleMania 36.

While McIntyre won the WWE Title in what everyone thought was the main event of WrestleMania 36 by defeating Brock Lesnar, he then defended the title in the real main event of WrestleMania 36, defeating The Big Show.
