Tyler Bate Wins Noam Dar’s NXT Heritage Cup, Gives It Back; Title Match Set For NXT Heatwave
The NXT Heritage Cup had a busy night on August 8.
Tyler Bate defeated Noam Dar to capture the NXT Heritage Cup that Dar was carrying around, but he is not the recognized lineal holder of the trophy.
Dar had lost the championship to Nathan Frazer at NXT Gold Rush when Oro Mensah defended it on his behalf due to Noam being out with an injury. However, losing the trophy put Dar in a comatose state so he was gifted a trophy of his own by the other members of Meta-Four. However, he has now lost that cup to Tyler Bate after Bate defeated him on August 8.
Despite knowing it is not the legitimately recognized trophy, Bate celebrated his victory over the man that ended his own run with the cup back in NXT UK on October 6, 2021.

Nathan Frazer, the recognized champion, later ran into Dar and Tyler arguing over whether or not the cup still belonged to Dar. Frazer convinced Tyler to give Noam his cup back and agreed to give Noam a championship match at Heatwave on July 22.
