Two More NJPW Wrestlers Join War Of Worlds Tour
NJPW talent is joining Ring of Honor for a tour.
So far, Ring of Honor has announced Jushin Liger and the stable Los Ingobernables de Japon for the North American tour called War of the Worlds. Two more New Japan Pro Wrestling roster members have been added to the tour as announced by Ring of Honor. On Twitter the promotion tweeted the two dates which Rocky Romero will be performing.
IWGP United States Champion Jay White will be appearing on the same two dates as Romero. The following the excerpt from the press release on ROHWrestling.com.
Excursions have a history of bringing out the best in professional wrestlers. Jushin Liger was a Young Lion before traveling to Europe and competing in All Star Wrestling and then to Calgary to compete in Stampede before becoming one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling. The same could be said for former IWGP Heavyweight Champion The Great Muta who became one of the biggest stars in the world after traveling on excursion to Florida Championship Wrestling, WWC in Puerto Rico, and World Class Championship Wrestling in Dallas before returning to Japan and becoming a legend.
The path traveled by those and other greats is being followed to a tee by IWGP United States Champion “Switchblade” Jay White. White competed for over a year in Ring of Honor on excursion following his time as a New Japan Young Lion. White was undefeated for nearly eight months and picked up wins against former World Champions before a memorable, and violent, feud with Punishment Martinez. His world travels, like Liger, Muta, and may others before him, helped White take the jump to the next level and after White rose to the occasion to defeat Kenny Omega to become just the second IWGP United States Champion, few doubters remained.
Both White and Romero have worked for Ring of Honor over the past years but recently have been primarily at New Japan Pro Wrestling.
