Trish Stratus Recalls The Most Embarrassing Moment Of Her Career
Trish Stratus is known as the greatest women’s wrestler of her generation in the mind of many. However, every great performer has an embarrassing moment and for Trish, it happened to take place during the night of her retirement.
Trish Stratus retired in front of her hometown crowd at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, at Unforgiven 2006 against her greatest rival, Lita.
It was a storybook moment. Trish, a modern Canadian hero, won the match with a Sharpshooter and retired as Women’s Champion.
However, on her way to the ring, she had a stumble which she considers the most embarrassing moment of her career as she shared with Taylor Wilde on Taylor’s podcast, Wilde On.
“At my epic retirement match, I’m at the Air Canada Centre in front of my hometown crowd, the crowd is going crazy for me, it’s my final moment, I’m walking down the ramp to the ring, I go up the stairs…and I tumble. I didn’t tumble off and I’m like ‘oh, I’m fine.’ Why do we do that when we tumble, we’re like ‘I’m good, who saw that?’ Who didn’t see it? Thankfully, thanks to WWE programming, it’s maybe erased from some people’s memories. I went on to have a great match. Hopefully, they remember that part.”
Trish Stratus has not wrestled since the 2019 SummerSlam event where she competed against Charlotte Flair. Taylor Wilde, on the other hand, is heading back to the wrestling industry. Learn more at this link.
