Triple H Says WWE Didn’t Do Halftime Heat Because Of Fox Partnership
Triple H has revealed the reason WWE NXT did not put on a halftime heat show in 2020 as they did in 2019, their Fox partnership.
During the media call prior to NXT TakeOver: Portland, Triple H, aka Paul Levesque, was asked about the absence of Halftime Heat following the successful stream of the NXT match in 2019. Triple H revealed that it is simply not in their best interest to ask a business partner such as Fox to allow them to try to divide their halftime audience during the Super Bowl.
“No, we kind of knew the Super Bowl is coming,” Triple H joked. “Yeah. Well, it’s kind of tough to tell Fox, hey, when they’re your partner that you know. Yeah. You know, what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna try to sway people over from your halftime show and get them to watch our Halftime Heat show.”
Continuing on, Triple H would also reveal that this year’s halftime was actually sought after by a majority of the audience and he himself would praise the hustle of the production crew as he was in attendance for the Super Bowl this year.
“Little different when the year before, they weren’t our partner was also a moment in time where, you know, people were clamoring about the halftime show not being what they wanted to see last year. So the timing of it was right. This year, would I love to do that? Absolutely. What was the timing right for it this year? No. And I’m also glad we didn’t because they had crazy spectacular halftime show that, you know, I was there. I was there in person and watching them be able to convert. Watching Fox and that team and everybody that worked on it be able to convert a football field inside of 30 minutes into a concert stadium and then back into a football field without damaging anything without it and put on that level of production is mind-boggling,” he concluded.
