Triple H Says Johnny Gargano Is “Day-To-Day,” Promises Unexpected Big Names On 11/20 WWE NXT

Triple H provides an update on Johnny Gargano.

On the NXT TakeOver: WarGames III media call, Triple H was asked about Johnny Gargano’s status ahead of TakeOver. Gargano was originally scheduled to face Finn Balor at TakeOver: WarGames III, but a reported neck injury will keep him sidelined. Gargano was taken out by Balor on the Oct. 23 episode of NXT and listed as “not medically cleared” on the NXT injury report.

“Day-by-day, right now,” said Triple H about Gargano’s status. “I’m hoping it’s soon, he’s hoping it’s soon. I can’t even tell you how many TakeOvers in a row that he did. He’s gutted missing this one. I’m gutted for him. This would have been an epic match and a big moment with him and Balor. He’s sort of day-to-day right now and kind of goes by how he feels. There’s nothing there that is structurally concerning or anything like that. It’s a management of the symptoms and trying to get him past all that. Hopefully, it won’t be too long.”

Gargano has been on every TakeOver since WarGames I — he competed in a dark match on that night. Balor will now face Matt Riddle at WarGames III.

Also on the call, Triple H revealed the final member of Team Ciampa in WarGames will not be announced until the day of the event. He also teased ” big names people won’t expect” for Wednesday’s NXT.

Fightful will have live coverage of NXT beginning tonight at 8 p.m. ET. You can listen to the entire media call with Triple H by clicking here.
