Triple H Provides Injury Updates Following NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Says Gargano Is Banged Up
NXT TakeOver: In Your House had plenty of memorable moments with Io Shirai’s dive off the house, Johnny Gargano being pounce’d through plexiglass, Rhea Ripley taking a moonsault to the face, Tommaso Ciampa being on the receiving end of an apron bomb and more.
Fortunately, despite some rough-looking moments and spots, only one member of the NXT roster was banged up coming out of the show.
Triple H said in the NXT TakeOver post-show media call that Johnny Gargano “tweaked himself a bit,” noting that it was his lower back and his hips were tight. Triple H went on to say that doctors didn’t think it was anything serious.
Gargano competed against Keith Lee for the NXT North American Championship with Lee picking up the victory.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter that “Rhea Ripley was saying she was okay as she came through the curtain” while clarifying, “Hardly a sure thing, as I’m sure that’s what she’d want them to think anyway because she’s tough as nails. But hopefully she is.”
Ripley looked like she caught a couple of knees to the face by Shirai during the finish of the NXT Women’s Title triple threat match.
“Adrenaline is a magical thing,” said Triple H on the call. “Everybody was pretty hyped up after this show and it was a big celebratory effort, we got together in the arena after the show, and everybody was elated. We’ll see when everybody cools down. It was a physical night. The talent was pent up, we’ve been doing television shows, but tonight was different. It felt special. There was a palpable buzz in the air and you could feel that specialness. The energy was very high and you could see it in the workout. We’ll see as everybody cools off, but right now everybody is healthy and hopefully, it stays that way.”
