Triple H Jokes About “Smoke Issues” On His Plane After BroserWeights Win
Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle‘s ride to NXT TakeOver: Portland saw them sneak onto Triple H‘s plane ride and the King of Kings certainly had some “smoke issues” on the ride over.
On the February 12 episode of NXT, Dunne and Riddle, the BroserWeights, tried various methods to get to Portland and settled on sneaking onto Triple H’s plane. The duo were able to not only arrive in Portland, but also beat Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly to win the NXT Tag Team Championship at TakeOver: Portland.
In a post-show Q&A with Cathy Kelley, Triple H joked that there were smoke issues in the back of his plane, according to his pilot.
“I had the weirdest thing. My plane smelled terrible on my way to Portland. Smoke issues in the back. That’s what the pilot said. Those guys put on an unbelievable performance which actually leaves you questioning, ‘How much fish could Bobby Fish fry if Bobby Fish could fry fish?’ I think the world is going to keep asking that. Amazing tag match,” Triple H said.
Earlier in the day, when Triple H was answering questions on Twitter posed by fans, he was surprised to find out that they were even on his plane.
What do you mean the Broserweights were in my plane?!? https://t.co/wo5pPHTDbd

It’s no surprise that those “smoke issues” is a reference to Riddle and his fascination with “joints,” something that has been brought up on NXT TV in the past.
I was watching #NXT and was gonna tweet about how Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne are a good team cuz they’re both good at working the joints and then this happened. — pic.twitter.com/WRn37uk9vg

When talking about the match itself and the sudden pairing of Riddle and Dunne, Triple H spoke highly of the BroserWeights and how they were able to have instant chemistry, something he says is very rare to see in a new tag team.
“The funny thing is that every so often, people talk about tag teams that have been together for years, their chemistry. But sometimes you put two guys together and then there’s this instant chemistry. Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle got together and then there was this instant chemistry and suddenly, they have been like they’ve been tagging together [for years]. I’m not even talking about, ‘Oh, they just do some nifty moves.’ I’m talking about, ‘Man, its almost as if they know what the other is going to do before they do it,’ type of chemistry, which is very rare. Those are rare moments when teams come along and pass a team like Bobby and Kyle which was incredible,” Triple H said.
