Triple H: If Gable Steveson Wants To Join WWE, He Will Do It In Record Time And Be Amazing At It
Triple H says he’s a big fan of Gable Steveson but believes it’s best if Gable focuses on one task at a time.
Recently, NCAA champion Gable Steveson has been hinting at a desire to join WWE in the near future. Gable was even in the crowd at Night 2 of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver event.
While Steveson does have WWE desires, he has recently qualified for the Olympics, and speaking on the post-show media call after Stand & Deliver Night 2, Triple H stated that he believes Steveson will be successful in whatever he does, he doesn’t want to ask him to make a decision right now as he is looking to train for the Olympics.
“Gable came here tonight. He enjoyed the show as a guest. He had his dad with him. He just won the NCAA championships and the national championships and obviously, qualified for the Olympics. That is a big task at hand, so… He’s a huge fan of what we do. we’ve been talking for a long time. He wanted to come out here, see TakeOver, see WrestleMania, and we’ll see where it goes,” said Triple H.
He continued, “I would hate to say to a guy who is a junior in college, ‘Let’s make some decisions at the moment why you’re trying to get ready for the Olympics.’ Let’s focus on one thing at a time. He’s got a bright future and anything that he decides to do but he’s a massive fan of what we do. I am a massive fan, as we all are, of what he can bring to the table here, and if he does make the decision to come here and want to become a WWE Superstar, man, I have no doubt that he will do it, do it in record time and be amazing at it.”
Kurt Angle, the only Olympic gold medalist to ever wrestle in WWE, recently echoed the sentiments during a Q&A session of his podcast. Read Kurt Angle’s comments at this link.
Steveson also recently spoke to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp about his aspirations for both WWE and MMA. You can check out the full interview embedded above.
