Triple H Comments On WWE Possibly Turning Moments Into NFTs
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have become a major rage as of late with certain NFTs going for millions of dollars.
NFTs are a unit of data on a digital ledger called a blockchain, where each NFT can represent a unique digital item. They can represent digital files such as art, audio, videos, sports highlights, video game items and much more.
The NBA has gotten into NFTs with Top Shot, which sees historic NBA highlights turned into NFT blockchains.
When asked if WWE might jump into the NFT game, Triple H gave the following comments to Pardon My Take.
“Those are things, as technology changes and those opportunities become available, it’s always things that we’re looking at. Vince has a big philosophy of not wanting to be the first person to jump into the pool, but you also don’t want to be the last. That’s where we are and we look at all the options. In some ways, we’re tailor-made for [NFT] rather than some random dunk in the NBA. Our moments are iconic. It’s what we do, we create iconic moments that live forever. I don’t necessarily fully understand [NFT] and it’s something we look at and have a lot of people in our company that are a lot smarter than me that are looking at them constantly,” he explained.
It is unknown if or when WWE will turn historic moments into collectible NFTs.
Elsewhere during the interview, Triple H said the possibility of Rob Gronkowski returning to WWE for WrestleMania 37 has been discussed. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
