This was the first time two black men have main evented an NXT PLE.
Williams and Carmelo were aligned immediately upon Trick’s arrival on the main roster in September 2021. The two remained close friends until Trick was laid out by a mystery attacker in October 2023. Carmelo officially turned on Trick, and revealed himself as the mystery attacker, at NXT Vengeance Day 2024.
