Trick Williams discusses the upcoming Iron Survivor Challenge match.
At NXT Deadline, fans will see the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor matches for only the second year in a row. The 25 minute contest will feature five men and women in a scramble style matchup where the winner will be the competitor with the most falls in the allotted time. This year, the men’s bout for the show will feature Bron Breakker, Dijak, Tyler Bate, Josh Briggs and finally, Trick Williams.
While speaking to ComicBook.com, Williams would discuss the Iron Survivor Challenge, noting that its his chance to prove himself.
“Oh, absolutely. I mean this is everything. Like you said, man, there are some big guys in this match and you got Josh Briggs, Mr. Country Strong, you got Bron Breakker, the dog, and you got Dijak, 6’6 and acrobatic man. I mean, this is the time for me to prove myself and show that I can hang with the best of the best on a whole different level,” he said
Williams would then discuss the strategy in the matchup, noting that due to being a “fighter”, he would like to start the matchup despite the incredible task that would be.
“Right, man, I remember watching the Iron Survivor Challenge last year. I’m thinking this is probably the dopest match I’ve seen,” Williams said. “The 90 seconds locked up… It is like, hey, which is the best spot to have? Do you want to start off the match and have the most time in the match, or do you want to come in fresh on the back end where other people are tired and try to collect your falls that way?”
“So it just kind of depends on where your mind is at. Me being the fighter I am, I probably want to start off the match, but I’m looking forward to it. I also going to keep in mind, like we said, there are some big guys in this match Matthew, so you got to be careful what you ask for here,”
Williams is also involved in a storyline on NXT programming regarding a backstage attack a few weeks ago, and who the culprit might be. The two main suspects, Carmelo Hayes and Lexis King, are scheduled to square off at NXT Deadline also. You can check out the full preview for the event here.
Williams declared he wants to run it back with Ilja Dragunov after Deadline. You can read more here.
