On the December 3 episode of NXT, Eric Bischoff hosted a confrontation between NXT Champion Trick Williams and Ridge Holland ahead of their title match at NXT Deadline. The two competitors brawled, and Holland slammed Williams onto the broadcast table. Williams was taken out on a stretcher and driven away in an ambulance, but NXT General Manager Ava said the match was still on for NXT Deadline.
In a post on Twitter/X, Trick Williams shared a video in which he provided an update on his status. He said that he had checked out of the hospital, and he had been cleared to compete at NXT Deadline. Williams said that Holland got the best of him, and he hurt his neck. However, Williams made it clear that there was no way that Holland would take the title from him.
Williams said that he was doing this for Chase U, NXT, and himself. He ended his message by saying that he would see Holland at NXT Deadline.
