Tough Enough Winner Josh Bredl Released From WWE

Does anyone actually “win” Tough Enough?

Josh Bredl, who along with Sara Lee won the Tough Enough competition back in 2015, was also among those who were released from their contract this past Friday, PWInsider reports, joining Leo Gao and Sawyer Fulton.

He was part of the 2015 Tough Enough, where he defeated ZZ Loupe on the show finals to win a developmental contract with the WWE. Changing his name to Bronson Matthews, he mostly appeard on NXT live events, never appearing on NXT television. He had been gone for a long amount of time recently due to what was being reported as concussion-related issues. His last match with NXT was back on July 7th of 2016, where he lost to Dan Matha.

A number of Tough Enough talent were signed to deals following the show’s conclusion. Sara Lee, the female winner of the 2015 season, left the promotion in October of last year and immediately announced that she was expecting a baby with NXT developmental talent Wesley Blake. Others, like ZZ and Mada Abdelhamid, were released or decided to leave on their own accord. Patrick Clark (who know wrestles as the Velveteen Dream) Amanda Saccomanno (Mandy Rose) and Daria Berenato (Sonia Deville) continue to train under WWE developmental deals.
