The GCW Tag Team Championship has changed hands.

The GCW Tag Team Championship has changed hands.

At GCW Homecoming 2023 Part Two on August 20, Toru Sugiura and Takashi Sasaki challenged the East West Express (Jordan Oliver and Nick Wayne) for the GCW Tag Team Championship. In the end, Violento Jack interfered and helped Sugiura and Sasaki score the win.

Oliver and Wayne won the titles by defeating The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) at GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break 7 on Match 31. They held the titles for 142 days, and the reign marked their first run with the titles.

Toru Sugiura and Takashi Sasaki frequently wrestle for Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS. Sugiura is the reigning King Of FREEDOM World Champion. He defended the title against John Wayne Murdoch at GCW Homecoming Part One. With the tag team title win, the duo won their first championships in GCW.

Wayne is currently signed to AEW, and he made his in-ring debut for the company on July 12. Alongside Darby Allin, he has been feuding with Swerve Strickland and AR Fox in recent weeks.
