Hit Row (Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla, and B-Fab) had a prominent run on NXT throughout 2021, and the group moved up to WWE SmackDown when they were drafted to the blue brand in October. The faction was released in rounds of cuts in November, and while Scott went on to sign with AEW, the rest of the group returned to WWE in August 2022. They have been part of the WWE SmackDown roster ever since. The group crossed paths on the February 17 episode of WWE SmackDown, where Bray Wyatt interrupted a freestyle rap by Top Dolla.
Speaking on Wrassle Rap, Top Dolla recalled the segment. He noted that they didn’t have anything prepared when they were rehearsing, so he rapped to the beat on the spot.
“Please boo us. To be honest, that was so cool for us because we came there that day expecting to just do a promo. Then, they were like, ‘we have this idea of y’all doing a rap and getting interrupted.’ That was on the spot that day. In rehearsal, we didn’t even have anything prepared. They just put the beat on and I just freestyled for a minute and a half. They were thinking I wrote this out, ‘this is what I’m going to say,’ but I really freestyled for a minute and a half and they were like, ‘cool,'” Top Dolla said.
In the same interview, Hit Row discussed their return to WWE in 2022. Check out their comments here.
