Tony Schiavone Discusses Tribute To Dusty Rhodes At Every AEW Event

The Gorilla Position is known in wrestling as the final area wrestlers stand before making their way through the curtain and into the ringside area.

In AEW, they call that area the Go Position and it is often occupied by Tony Khan as he runs point on the production of the show. It’s also occupied by a tribute to Dusty Rhodes, as a reminder of everything he brought to the wrestling industry.

“Right there is a wooden plaque with Dusty’s name and likeness on it, his birth and death dates, and his old cowbell. It’s right there, before all the wrestlers walkout, for them to see it. For me, it says a lot about what he meant to the business and his creativity,” revealed Tony Schiavone on Gettin’ Better with Ron Funches

Dusty played an integral part in booking and training for many promotions over the years including the NWA, TNA/IMPACT, and NXT.

Cody is now doing his part to carry his father’s legacy as one of the four co-executive Vice Presidents in AEW.
