Tony Khan Says Fans Can Expect Blood & Guts This Summer, Asked UFC To Come To Double Or Nothing 2022

Blood & Guts could be returning in the summer.

The first, and only, Blood & Guts — AEW’s take on WarGames — took place in May 2021 in front of a limited capacity at Daily’s Place. The original match was supposed to take place in March 2020, but the pandemic hit, pushing the match back for over a year.

Come summer 2022, Tony Khan says fans can expect another Blood & Guts bout.

“Yeah. I’d say to expect Blood & Guts this summer,” Tony Khan told Marc Raimondi of ESPN when asked about another Blood & Guts match.

The Pinnacle (MJF, Shawn Spears, FTR, & Wardlow) were victorious over The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz, & Jake Hager) in the only Blood & Guts match.

Asked about Stadium Stampede, Khan said, “That I’ll have to get back to you on. I’ve thought about it. It’s a very different wrestling world now than it was during the pandemic. I think it’s a great match, a signature match for us that people really enjoyed. But some of the reasons we presented that match were because of the challenges that existed in the world because of the pandemic, as far as presenting sporting events with live fans. That doesn’t really exist in this live-event pandemic.”

Stadium Stampede has taken place at Double or Nothing in the past two years.

Double or Nothing will be back in Las Vegas in 2022 and when asked about integration with UFC, Khan said it was possible.

“I asked them to come. I don’t know. We’d have to see. If we could find a way to make that work, I think it would be great. I’m just excited to be out there for the week. Hopefully I can see UFC president Dana White and UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell in Vegas. It’s always great to have them here in Jacksonville for UFC 273 this weekend. This will be the first time I’ve gotten to go back to Vegas since the pandemic started. When I’m out there, they’re definitely people l look up. The only people I’m racing to talk to when I’m out there are Dana and Hunter. It used to be Jon Moxley and his wife Renee Paquette, but they moved to Cincinnati,” he said.

AEW Double or Nothing is scheduled for May 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Rampage beginning at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.
